A Bonus Wool Project for March...

While I have been trying to focus on "Stitch from my Stash",
I did treat myself to a new wool project this month:

"Daffies in an Old Granite Pan"
design by Maggie Bonanomi

Mom and I decided to stitch this as a stitch along.
This is mine all prepped and ready to stitch.

And here is Mom's.
She used wool from her stash.

It is stitching up quickly and I hope to share my finish soon.

Last Saturday was National Puppy Day, so I thought I would share my pups.

They love their walks, but I think they love their naps even more.

Last weekend I was under the weather and took a little nap.
I woke up to this:

How is a person to move? And how could I possible get up?!
I think that they were trying to be "comfort dogs" ;)

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Have Ye Any Wool?

Those of you that follow me on Instagram  have seen my progress on my final March
 Stitch from my Stash project.

You also already heard how Charlotte thought I needed a pair of sheep scissors
to complete my ensemble. So what's a stitcher to do, but buy them ;)
They are awfully sweet!

I finished this stitch on Friday and was able to fully finish this weekend.

I'm happy with how it turned out!
And it looks sweet with my antique lead sheep who has seen better days...

So glad that it isn't lying in my stash any longer.
It is out on display where I can enjoy it!

I loved the original finish of the model, so I just went with it.

And isn't this backing fabric perfect?
The fabric is a bit crooked, but I had to get in the sheep bottom in the bottom right corner...

Well, there is almost a week left in March so I think I'll move on to a bonus project or two before starting my April Stitch from my Stash projects.
Time for something new!

And there is still time to enter my little giveaway here.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Fancy Floss

Do you know what treasures I keep in my stack of antique shaker boxes?
My fancy floss!

The largest box on the bottom contains all of my The Gentle Arts Sampler Threads.

A little while back, Mom was kind enough to organize them all alphabetically on rings.
Aren't I lucky?!

One night when I wasn't feeling well enough to stitch,
I logged all of them on my XStitch app on my phone.
Now when I buy a pattern, I'll know if I have the threads or not.

I should mention that these are just the threads that aren't currently in use or kitted with a project.
(I guess I really have many more... shh!)

It was fun to go through them as I logged them.
Do you remember way back when at the beginning of the overdyed thread movement
when they just had little paper tags?

Or when the tags looked like this?

It's interesting to see how much thread lots can vary.

Some look like totally different colors.
I don't let it bother me. When I pull the threads for a project  - I pull all the skeins and see which works best.

When logging them, I found that for most colors I have one or two skeins, but for others I have many! One color I had 10 skeins!

I am so glad that these are organized.
Now I know what I have for the most part and can limit my duplicates... maybe ;)
On to my Weeks Dye Works threads!

Let's have some fun and a little giveaway :)
Comment here or send me an email to pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with Fancy Floss in the subject and tell me:
What color did I have 10 skeins of?
How many skeins of The Gentle Arts Sampler Thread are in the box?

You'll win a skein of that popular color and a few other items as well.
I'll pick two winners on Monday, April 1st - no fooling! ;)

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Happy St. Patrick's Day ~ a wee bit late

"Little Shamrocks"
by Pineberry Lane

Shamrock thread holder by Notforgotten Farm

Finished in the nick of time!

I love to combine all forms of needlework that I love ~
Cross stitch and English Paper Piecing on the front and a little wool applique on the back.

I am so happy with my Stitch from My Stash finishes that I completed so far this month.
I think that they look so sweet together.

Whenever I see daffodils at the market,
some must come home with me.

It makes me think that Spring might arrive after all...

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Little Lambs Eat Ivy

Last year at From Our Hands, Mom and I took the Lamb on the Hill Sewing Box class

We made our sheep and most of the box in class, and then somehow I let it sit for almost a year.

This is Lori's sweet model for the class and what we aspired to create.

Are you ready to see my finish?

Here it is!
I decided to place my lamb on a hilltop meadow of flowers.

I am so thrilled with how it turned out!
Mom and I were apprehensive, but Lori walked us through each and every step.

I was excited when I realized that I have a Lehay's shaker carrier in the same color to match my sewing box!

Another Stitch from My Stash Finish!

Can you tell that I am smitten with this little fellow?

I may have added too many flowers, I haven't quite decided yet.

This is something that I never would have attempted on my own.
Who knew that I could do it?!

Registration is open now for this year's From Our Hands ~ Creative retreat next month.

Thank you so much Rebekah and Lori Ann for expanding my creative horizons and bringing me out of my comfort zone!

“Do not be afraid, because I’ve redeemed you.
    I’ve called you by name;
        you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I’ll be with you;
and through the rivers, they won’t sweep over you.
when you walk through fire you won’t be scorched,
and the flame won’t set you ablaze.

Nashville Market Night 2019

Last week I attended Nashville Market Night at Inspired Needle in Lemont, IL.
I am sorry to say that I didn't take any photos in the shop  this year.
There were so may wonderful things to choose from, that I was like a kid in the candy store and was constantly distracted by all the stitchy goodness!

As you can see I had to buy all the new Blackbird books!
Each one is a treasure trove of ideas and I really love to look through their books when I am too tired to stitch :)

I also purchased these two seasonal designs.
Sew sweet!

You know that I HAD to purchase The Scarlett House's Morning Walk and
you can probably guess that the dogs will get shorter and longer ;)

The surprise find for me is "Happiness is Homemade" chock-full with both recipes and small cross stitch designs! What more could you ask for?! I already found a few must stitch small designs :)

And the Ode to the Ort box kit was tops on my list after missing the ort basket last year.
I think that this might be the first thing that I stitch from market, but first...

I need to finish up my Stitch from Stash projects for March.
Here is a little start - I better keep my fingers moving!

I did finish my wool project for March and I am absolutely thrilled with it!
Wait until you see...

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor anything above, nor anything below, nor anything else in all creation can separate us from the love of God that is ours in union with the Messiah Jesus, our Lord.

The Perfect Sentiment

"Promise of  Spring"
design by Silver Creek Samplers

When I was digging in craft corner for my March projects,
I found this piece that I stitched way back in 2014, but never fully finished.

It's a sentiment that really touched me in the moment as I am feeling like this winter is lasting forever, so I had to fully finish immediately!

I thought the white chenille trim set it off well.
Another Stitch from my Stash finished!

"Sweet Clover Girl"
from "Little Shamrocks"
design by Pineberry Lane
stitched up quickly.

As did "Basket 'O Luck"
I did tweak the little bunnies just a bit.

Time to fully finish!
I have some ideas, but need to still work on finding the right fabrics from my stash...

Thank you so much for the continued good wishes!
My shingles are starting to heal, but I am still dealing with complications
and it is taking longer to recover than I had hoped. At least I can still stitch!

And please keep my dear sister-in-law, Joy in your prayers as she continues on her chemo journey...

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble
with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

March Stitch from my Stash Projects

My Stitch from my Stash projects are all set for March! First up are:
"Little Shamrocks"
by Pineberry Lane

I kitted these up last spring, but then never started them.
Hopefully one or two will be fully finished by Saint Patrick's Day!

 "Have Ye Any Wool?"
by With Thy Needle and Thread

I bought the pattern and kitted this at the Nashville Market night last year.
Since Nashville 2019 is going on right now, I thought I should get this started!

My wool project for March is:
Lamb on a Hill Sewing Box
by Lori Ann Corelis
this is another class project that I took at From Our Hands 2018.

It shouldn't take long to complete.

I started Pineberry Lane's "Sweet Clover Girl".
It should be a quick stitch!

I'm enjoying my Notforgotten Farm thread keep while I work on this project :)

Right now three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.
