Here I am...

"Here I am Lord, Is it I, Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart."
~James Kilbane ~ Here I Am Lord Lyrics

Just a quick note to let you know that I am still around...
It has been a crazy month, traveling for two and a half weeks with lots to share.

Then unexpected news that stops you in your tracks.
My father is seriously ill in central Illinois
while my mother in law is having a health emergency in northern Illinois.

At times like this we need to hold on to what we cherish most:
faith, family and friends.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support.

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."
~Romans 5:1-5

Pennies from Heaven ~ Volume 12

Thank you ever so much for all of your prayers and well wishes!
Each and every one is very much appreciated.

Dad had his lung biopsy. It was more involved than we thought with a few complications, but we were ever so thankful for the dedication of the doctor and his team!
We were so happy that Dad was released to go home the same day.

He is still suffering from significant and constant pain.
We welcome continued prayers while we await the results.

Mom has kept her hands busy - a welcome distraction during this difficult time.
I love this autumnal bed scarf and Mom's stitching is perfection!

Mom also completed the Maggie Club three month series from Country Sampler in Spring Green, WI. This is part of the year-long Maggie Club.
Mine is in progress.

I love Mom's stitching and little insects :)

It looks at home on their sun porch.

Dad should receive his results this week.
Unfortunately, I will be on a business trip in San Diego. Thank goodness I have a wonderfully supportive, loving and helpful sister!

Thank you again for all of your continued prayers!

Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
~Isaiah 46:4

A Prayer Request

Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday.
Happy Birthday Dad!
A few years ago I shared some of the miniatures that my Dad created.
You can read more about it here.

This is the piece that started it all. Look at the toolbox in the bottom of this photo. All the tools were whittled by hand by Dad along with the decorative cane behind it.

Tomorrow I will head down to celebrate Dad's birthday,
but also to take Dad for a lung biopsy on Wednesday.
May I please ask that you say a prayer for my Dad?

Mom and Dad have been through a lot this year.
We know the power of prayer in Mom's healing from surgery only two months ago
and in the wonderful news that her cancer is now in remission.
We appreciate the outpouring of love, prayer and well wishes from so many of you!
We can't possibly thank you enough.
We certainly didn't anticipate requesting more prayers so soon.
We pray for the same healing for Dad as he has been experiencing a lot of pain this week.
Prayers for healing, comfort and peace.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways
~Psalm 91:9-11

~*September Offerings*~

I’m sorry that I missed having an update last month – summer and vacations took up too much of my time :)

But I am back with end of summer/start of autumn offerings. My indian corn in my garden is getting close to harvest time and so inspired this month’s offerings…

My first offering is “Crows in the Corn” Thread Board. Based on a design by Primitive Stitchin’ by Shelly Auen, it is accentuated with a brushed cotton plaid and a beaded trim reminiscent of corn kernels. This piece is both lovely to display and useful. I added mother of pearl rings for holding threads on one side.

On the back I included a hand-dyed wool heart pocket for embroidery scissors (not included). There is also a wool crow needle and pin keep. It has a base of mat board, so that it is stiff and can be propped up on a shelf or table. It measures approximately 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches (not including the rings) and is completely handsewn.
“Crows in the Corn” Thread Board is sold. Thank you ever so much!

I’ve also created a “Crows in the Corn” pinkeep pillow. This one of a kind pillow started with a cross stitch design by Our Pioneer Homestead. I then added a wool crow and pins that looked like kernels of corn.  It measures approximately 4.5 inches by 7.5 inches and is completely handsewn. On the back I included a hand-dyed wool heart pocket for embroidery scissors (not included) and a wool crow needle and pin keep.

My final offering are Pumpkin Pie Pinkeeps ~ a Winding Vine Designs original.
These wee velvet pumpkins are mounted in primitive antique tart tins. I found these sweet tins while antiquing on vacation in the north woods and knew exactly what I wanted to do with them :) They are sweet and tiny and measure approximately 3.5 inches across and feature real pumpkin stems. Height varies based on the stem.

Please specify:
Baby Boo (cream)
    Jack Be Little (orange)
    Jarrahdale (blue/green)
