From Our Hands~Creative ~ The Classes

I was so thrilled that this year Lori Ann and Rebekah extended the event by one day. This allowed us to take four classes! My first day was my "Rebekah" day with Chalkware Cat Sewing Caddy in the morning and Rebekah's wonderful Sewing Stool in the afternoon.

I just love this piece and was so excited to be able to take the class!
So many wonderful little details...

We had homework to finish before we came to class and mine was ready to go.
I switched up the bird a bit, to make it a little more "me".

Isn't it fun to see entire cones of DMC in Rebekah colors?!

With Rebekah's help, our stools were done in a snap.

What a beautiful and useful treasure!
I just wish that I had taken a photo of everyone's stools together - each similar but unique.
The first day came to an end way too quickly, but there was still a second day of classes...

The morning of the second day, I had class with Stacy Nash to create a Civil War Sewing Basket.

This is the original antique that our class was based on.

Stacy's displays are always so beautiful!

I was able to get two panels started before I needed to leave class for a quick trip home
to attend the final high school band concert of my favorite tuba player - my youngest son.
It was hard to leave the fun, but absolutely worth it when his solo was the finale of the concert.
I was one proud mama!

My quick trip home meant that I also had to miss my afternoon class - this oh so sweet mohair bird and egg with Lori Ann Corelis.

Time in the airport and on the plane allowed me to finish the two Stacy Nash panels and my three sided scissor pouch for my Sewing Stool with Rebekah.

Now it is officially complete!

First thing the very next morning, I was heading back to Peninsula
and the From Our Hands Needle In...
The fun continues!

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Blessings, Patti

I love your work!!! Looks like it was a great time, of creativeness and fellowship. Can you please tell me about your wicker/wood sewing basket? I sure hope it is a repro and can be purchased and not vintage...thanks so much! Deb C
