After the Mercantile, we took a little road trip to The Fabric Peddler in Wadsworth, Ohio.
This shop sells a great selection of cross stitch supplies as well as quilting and wool.
They had just received a shipment from Dames of the Needle, so needless to say...
I had a lot of fun shopping for trims, velvet and linen :)
(I did heed my husband's plea not to bring home any more wool lol!)
All of our shopping made us hungry and led us back to Peninsula to check this place out.
Just as fun inside as outside!
I was too busy salivating to take pics inside ;)
I've never seen such a selection of unusual candy and sodas!
We had to try out a selection of ice cream from Pav's Creamery.
Salted Caramel Truffle was the big winner, but we ate them all ;)
Here are the Bittersweet Sisters before we headed home.
Nicki was missed terribly, but not forgotten.
We sent her a box full of goodies found on our trip that reminded us of her :)
So on to the little giveaway:
Just a few little items...
a few fat quarters from Mabel & Ethel's, a tiny antique paper package of needles from Maumee Antique Mall and a bee's wax heart and a sweet little jar of threads from Rebekah Smith's booth.
So tell me, what needlework retreat is on your bucket list???
Please comment on this post or send an email to me at: pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with "Giveaway" in the subject line.
I will pick a random winner on Thursday, May 26th.
Thanks for coming along on our trip. This giveaway isn't much, but hopefully it will help you feel like you came along...

for you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed,
or whether both of them alike will be good."

Love all your posts. My workshop wish list includes traveling with Sue Spargo to Itay, I have others that include Madeline Island in Michigan and attending quiltmania in France. Taking a quilt cruise would also be fun.
I've never attended one, so I don't know about too many yet, but I'd love to attend one hosted by the Primitive Stitchers Society (FB). They always look so fun!
I'd love to go to the needlework camps at Country Sampler in WI. I've been to Boxwood and Berries there and loved it. Next is that fabulous one you just returned from. Hopefully I'll get there in a year or two.
Hi Patti, thank you for your fabulous posts to remind this mad English lady if this fabulous event. The two others on my bucket list are Christmas in williamsburgh and boxwood and berries. Need to do serious saving though to achieve that.
I wish we had known about the fabulous shopping there was in the area..
Thank you for the chance to enter your give-away.

Oh, I think I am drooling over your Dames purchases, what great fabrics and trims.
The Sweet shop looks cute, and the treats look delicious too. :)
Great pic of the Sisters.
How thoughtful of all of you for sending your friend a package.
Thanks for sharing your travels again.
I would love to attend the Shepherd's Bush retreat some day.

I would love to go on a quilting cruise with Buttermilk Basin.
Looks like I will have to wait until I retire
i would love to go to a retreat @ country sampler
I love the details you give when you attend a retreat - where you shopped, what you sewed, what you saw, and what you ate. On my bucket list is Country Sampler, but I would also like to attend this one you just came home from.
Love reading your posts about your travels. I was unable to attend the classes in Penisula but I was lucky enough to attend the market on Saturday with my lovely DIL this year. I was in heaven. I have several retreats on my bucket list and attending classes at With Our Hands and Hearts is definitely one. I hope to one day make it the Boxwood and Berries but a must attend will be the final Prim Stitchers Society retreat in Lancaster.
Welcome home from your travels... I so enjoyed following you on this "soul-feeding" adventure. I am just learning about the retreats that exit...unfortunately, none close to my area...I guess I'll start my list with this one!
Busy Hands...Happy Heart
Patricia

I have wanted to go to the barn workshop by buttermilk basin. They look like so much fun.
Loved your post, such interesting photos too!
No retreat for me for awhile, I'm saving my pennies for a big ticket item.
Always a quiet time out on the back deck though, on my old rusty red glider, with a full cloudy blue sky over my head and bird song for music to stitch with.
Annie
Your retreat with the Bittersweet Sisters sounded awesome. I am living vicariously through you. I couldn't believe that you flew home to go to your son's band concert. That was so neat.
Picking one person would be impossible. I would love to go on a retreat with Stacy West of Buttermilk Basin . From reading her blog, she seems like a fun loving person. Rebekah Smith or Lori Anne Corielis would be other choices. I love their work. And that doesn't include my list of quilters.
Thanks for the giveaway,
Charlotte
I would like any retreat, I have never been and would love to carve out the time. Your retreat sounds like it was so much fun.
I would love to go to any retreat at the Country Sampler! I love Stacy Nash, Maggie, and the Blackbird ladies! I have all of their books! Someday....
I've been fortunate to have been at many different types of retreats. My favorite is anything with my friends just stitching away. We all encourage and laugh and learn for several days and it's such a renewal. Hope to be back in Ohio with Rebekah again. Seems like it only got better than the wonderful first time last year.
I really want to go to the Hands & Hearts in the spring. I'd love to take classes from everyone there. I have been to the show in November and I fell in love with Rebekah, Stacy, and Lori. Some day I will go to that show!
I have not ever been on a retreat... stitching or hooking... and would REALLY super love it if I could get to Country Sampler's retreat with Blackbird Designs! They are my favorite quilt and stitch designers AND their project for their next retreat is DIVINE! Of course... I'd enjoy hopping through the ice cream and candy shop you just posted about too! lol!
I would love a retreat with Blackbird designs, stacy nash, la d da, primitive gatherings all at the same place for an extended period of time!!!

A retreat with Rebekah Smith would be fabulous!
A retreat at country sampler in WI. I am lucky I will be taking a class in July there with Barb and Alma but I hope to do a whole week sometime!
Love following you on those you get to attend!
I think your give away is great. Just you taking the pictures and sharing with us is a treat. I feel like I was on the retreat with you. Use girls are going to a get together in July out side of Cleveland. We will do a little shopping but getting some finish work done on our projects. Nancy P.
Hi Patti. You seem to know or find all the coolest spots to shop! I have wanted to attend a retreat at County Sampler in Spring Green. Or something where Stacy Nash or Nan Lewis on Threadwork Primitives would be teaching a class. Thanks for your giveaway. Enjoy.

Thanks for taking us along on your Ohio trip. Enjoyed it! Would love to attend the Mercantile at Peninsula. Really like Rebekah Smith's work. ~Christine
I love Nan Lewis, Stacy Nash, Blackbird Designs and Maggie. How could you go wrong with anyone of these talented ladies, I know you have been to most of these ladies classes, lucky you! Thanks for sharing!
I think Empty Spools seminars in Asilomar would be on my list, not sure who with, but next month I'm doing a retreat with Mary Lou Weidman in Spokane. I'd also like to partake the Stitchin' Post in Sisters Oregon seminars in July.
Love that banner in the shop window. Thanks for a chance to win that sweet prize.
I so want to go to a retreat! Crabapple Hill has several great retreats, but they are always sold out. Is there a website that lists stitching retreats available? I want to go with you next time :)
I have yet to go to a retreat but hope to some day. I have been to the Fabric Peddler shop. Barb, the owner is always stitching some thing new. Thanks for a chance at your lovely giveaway.
Hi Patti, a couple of my friends were in the same class as you. Judy Fedline and Jacki Fioritti. They said Rebeckka was wonderful. Loved the cute sewing stool. Someday I would live to take Stacy Nash however, I have done very little cross stitch. Keep your posts coming. Janice
Only workshop I have attended is one on wool applique by Lisa Bonjean of Primitive Gatherings and what a winner that was for me, learned so much. Hope to go to the Hershey Quilt Show in Hershey, PA this July to get more inspiration.
Hi Patti,
I have never attended a retreat, however, there is one coming up in the fall that I am interested in attending.
Looks like you had a fun time on all your travels and shop visits.
Thank you for the giveaway!
Pam
Oh boy, where to start...I've never been on a stitching retreat but I would love to visit Virginia & hopefully stop in at Not Forgotten Farm to stitch the day away with Lori & her stitch friends. They may even get me into hooking!
Thank you so much Patti for a chance at the give-away.

I also have been doing the Magggie club and enjoying every project. What a great giveaway!
I've never been to a retreat but would love to try one. Your descriptions of the ones you've attended have whetted my appetite. But right now, at the top of my wish list would be one hosted by the Attic Needlework. (In Arizona, during the winter! LOL)
