Boxwood & Berries 2014 ~ The End & A Little Giveaway

One of the great parts of Boxwood & Berries is "Show & Tell" ~ seeing what others are working on or have finished. Carla, one of the Bittersweet Sisters, shared her incredible Primitive Gatherings quilt. WoW!

Carla's work is absolute perfection!
But now I see that I didn't take a photo of the entire quilt :(

Carla also shared this Stacy Nash pinkeep drum that she made

and this sweet box (Hillside Samplings perhaps?)

And this stunning Quaker Sampler.
Everything that Carla does is magnificent! :)

Frances' work is also amazing!
This hooked rug is huge! And even more beautiful in person!

And the colors were simply gorgeous!

Frances also finished this beautiful sampler while we were together...

Linda, another Bittersweet Sister, took a quick mixed media class on her way to Boxwood & Berries and created this masterpiece! Isn't it awesome?!

I did a little shopping on my trip and had to share my finds...

This large pyrography bowl just captured my heart.
The squirrel, oak and acorn motifs are perfect for the season.

I love the design on the back side as well and it is even dated 1909.

This wood pantry box has seen better days, but the original painting spoke to me.

And I think that I am now an official collector of tramp art!
This is my third piece :)
I love the nine layers and zigzag edge around the lid - it reminds me of cutting with pinking shears :)

I thought these tin boxes might be perfect for sewing supplies when traveling.
And the quilt squares will appear in a future creation. Or possibly the backs might be for...

Maggie's new pattern at the bottom right.
Also had to buy more of Linda's designs :)
And Nest & Bloom will be perfect when I start thinking about next Spring.

Some hand-dyed velvets came home with me with a coordinating flannel and some of Jean Elliott's hand-dyed ribbons.

Well, you have been so kind to let me drone on and on, so I must do something in return.
Here is a little giveaway picked up on my trip:

A vintage tomato pincushion,
An antique ink bottle filled with some old mother of pearl buttons and keys
A Country Sampler corner gauge
And Jean Elliott's hand dyed ribbon.

To enter simply comment on this post and tell me what you are thankful for.
If you aren't on blogger, then feel free to drop me an email at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with "Thankful" in the subject line. This little giveaway is open to one and all ~ so please feel free to enter!
I am off on another little trip, so I will pick a winner next week on November 11th.

"Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
~Hebrews 12:2-3

I loved the photos from Boxwood and your Bittersweet Sisters. Thankful for so many things, my family most of all. And having a hobby (ok, hobbies) that's so fulfilling - making something is just as good as seeing what everyone else has made.

Thanks for doing a giveaway.

Beautiful pictures!! I am thankful for needlework brick & mortar shop owners. They provide a haven of supplies to be transformed into works of art. They work such long hours to perpetuate our art & it is for the love of it because they don't get rich selling thread & fabric!
