The end of an era...

and the start of something new...

I have worked for the same company for 18 years now and have been in the same office for 16 years. This week we moved to a temporary location so that our offices could be gutted and completely redone. We have been in the same space for 82 years and infrastructure definitely needed to be updated.

I have become emotionally attached to some of my furniture and was fortunate to be able to bring it home.

I think that both pieces look like they belong in our sitting room. I'm happy to have a place to put some of my salt-glazed pottery.

This was my view of the changing seasons for the past 16 years:

The move was quite a project. I think we are almost settled in now and ready to jump in on Monday.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

-Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Blessings, Patti

Hi Patti, I hope your transition went well yesterday. You have such a nice view of the city from your office window. And your office furniture is gorgeous, glad you were able to take some pieces home with you....it looks great with your pottery!

Our company is looking at new office space when our lease is up next fall - it's bad enough when you have a makeover in the same building but a total relocation is cause for major anticipation (and dread!!)

Love the furniture - it looks like a perfect fit already~!
