Shop Hop~The End & A Giveaway

Our next stop was in Rockford, Illinois where we stopped at this pretty farm.

This sweet farmhouse held treasures inside...

It's the home of Quilter's General Store
and you can find their website here.
The shop was really buzzing with happy quilters - both shoppers and students in classes.

They carry wonderful lines of cotton reproductions and have some sweet antiques displayed
 lending a homey atmosphere.

The inspiration continues...

I was especially thrilled to find this corner -
Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses!
I've been contemplating this for some time and here was an opportunity to try a few blocks!

These came home with me - I would have been more than happy to buy one of each, but I tried to restrain myself ;)

Our final stop was also in Rockford.
I was fading fast, and they didn't allow photos.
You can find their website here.

So since you couldn't come along with us in person, I thought it would be nice to have a little giveaway:

Some squares of the luscious pastel wools, a little paper piecing kit to try, a pair of scissor and a quilt dot magnet.

The scissors were cute with little safety pins on them and the magnet has a pretty quilt design.

This giveaway is open to all and I will select a random winner on Friday, April 8th.
Simply leave a comment on this post or send me an email with "Shop Hop Giveaway" in the subject line and tell me...
Have you tried English Paper Piecing and what do you think of it?

Thanks for joining us on our shop hop!
And thank you to Aileen, Jan and Susan for a fun-filled day filled with happy memories!

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose. "
~Romans 8:28

Blessings, Patti

So much fun seeing the stores that you visited. I will have to not be so shy and take photos when I am traveling to new stores.
I have never tried paper piecing, usually I just sew my hexes by hand with no templates.

I've tried EPP and it requires 'staying power' to finish a large project. And I find its hardship on my hands too. Good luck to you.

Patti, you go on some wonderful trips! Someday I will have a friend that loves doing things like that. I wish you would come to the Iowa stitch-in that Barb Albright is setting up. I'd love to meet you in person. I live on the Iron Range and have no one who stitches prim close by so I'm heading to Iowa in June. Love your work! Krissy B.

A good friend of mine played Women's Baseball for Rockwood and is in both the American and Canadian baseball Halls of Fame! Wish I'd known of those two stores when I visited 3 years ago.

Love English paper piecing, have mainly worked with hexagons and use the corner stitch method for securing my fabric rather than stitching thru the paper.

Adorable scissors and wool, would love to be a lucky winner. Thanks for a chance.

Hi Patti, I was at the Quilt festival yesterday and as I commented to you previously I visited Yellow Creek Designs. Jill was so lovely and she demo'd the hexies to myself and my friend who "doesn't " sew. We both left well equipped to begin Stars In The Garden. I mentioned to Jill that you are the reason for my purchase. Thank you Patti! I look forward to your posts! Janice
