From Our Hands & Hearts ~ Part 2

After the morning class at From Our Hands & Hearts was over, we had a sweet box lunch.

It included this cute little bunny cookie who was almost too cute to eat... but I did :)

Next it was on to class with Stacy Nash.
She brought along these lovely lilacs from home. They looked and smelled divine.
Even today, my lilacs are still tight little buds in Chicago a ways from opening still.

More little packages too cute to open. I loved Stacy packaged the beautiful mother of pearl rings.

And here is Stacy's sample, Strawberry Girl Threadboard.

With a little pincushion on the back in the prettiest blue cotton.
I was a busy bee in Stacy's Class and didn't take any other photos.
And I am sorry to say that I didn't take photos of the other classes that were going on :(
(But I did take photos of the Needle-In which I will share next time :)

All too soon the afternoon was over and it was time for dinner.

Linda and I walked down the street to a place with the intriguing name of The Winking Lizard.
Even more intriguing was the sign above it:

Left from a previous establishment, it sounds like it was quite the hot spot!
Liquor and dancing! Oh my!
Don't worry, Linda and I didn't drink too much liquor or dance too much.
Instead we decided to return to the hotel and work on our projects.

That night I was able to complete my threadboard. I added a few more motifs.
(Some to cover a mistake in my stitching - shhhh!)

The velvet strawberry on the left was completed in class.

And here is the back - I added a bit of wool applique and a little pocket for my scissors.
See the little wax strawberry? That was from Stacy as well :)

And just today, I received a photo from Linda!

She finished her project "Oscar the Rabbit" ~ Linda took a class with Donna Bennett of Crows on the Ledge.
Isn't he darling?! Great job Linda!!!

The little threadboard that you made is really pretty. I like that you made it your own by adding the scissor pocket and applique flowers to the back!

What a lovely project Patti, your add itions work nicely with the design. I would be tempted to add a ribbon so your scissors could be secured.

Your friend's bunny is too cite!

Very sweet finish!
I "overpruned" my lilac last summer because it was so out of control, so I won't have any blooms this year...sigh.
Happy Mother's Day.
Hugs :)
