Life is...

Life is hard.
Some days, weeks, months, years are just plain rough.
So you plod along, knowing that things will get better.

It's at those times that I notice that the little things can help,
even if only for a moment
a hug
a smile
a kind word
a little hand work
a lovely blog post
a new book by Lori Brechlin, Blackbird Designs or Maggie Bonanomi

I hope that this blog has been one of those little things.
Your blogs, comments and emails have definitely been that to me :)

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
I have overcome the world.”
~John 16:33

Wishing you peace.
Blessings, Patti

p.s. To the many that have asked... the design in the photo is Blackbird Designs' "Summer in Bloom" from their book, Maria Selby Humphrey - 1831. It is stitched on the suggested linen - 28 ct. Dill by Picture This Plus. Hopefully I will have a finish to share soon...

It is a blessing when the simplest of things bring a little joy to our day....for me it is a good cup of tea. Comments from my blog friends work wonders, too!
Have a great weekend,
Robyn

Patti, I so agree with you, and would add to the list petting an old dog or having a purring kitty on your lap, and always, stitching. And, yes, by all means your blog fills the bill. Patti, remember, whatever it is, this too shall pass.

I hope your weekend days will be kind and peaceful, I always find the Book of Psalms helps so so much. We had a builder in Oklahoma rip us off big time and without my word everyday and prayer time I wouldn't have made it through.... I enjoy your blog so very much.....

I so agree with you.
Life can be hard.
Some 'seasons of life' you never want to end and for other 'seasons of life', the end cannot come fast enough.
This life takes a large amount of courage and strength.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I love reading your blog, it is so upbeat and positive, and I agree with you, simple are all around us and they are free. My Maggie, and Notforgotten Farm books came yesterday and I love the simplicity of them. Thank you for what you share.

That's a wonderful piece you're stitching on. Who's design is it? I agree with having something to relax to... I find that a few stitches each evening re-centers me for a good nights sleep. Lori's book is awesome and so inspiring... and Blackbird's is a beauty too! Haven't ordered Maggie's yet... maybe next month.... have a peaceful day!

Good post as usual! What type of linen are you stitching on? The pattern is lovely...is it a new design?

And this too shall pass... Is often what I repeat silently to myself so that I can get through something. Your creations and blog are often a bright moment :)

Your blog is a tentative link to my beloved but estranged daughter who also lives in the Chicago area. We are very far apart both emotionally and geographically. I can read about your life and the weather and feel like I'm close to her. Yes, life is hard. Mary A
