Happy Valentine's Day and a Winner!

Wishing each of you a Happy Valentine's Day!

Thank you  to all those who entered my giveaway for such a wonderful response. I wish that I had many heart boxes to give away rather than just the one. I enjoyed reading about what you like to eat on Valentine's Day. Chocolate was the hands down winner - in various forms. There were quite a few who mentioned heart shaped pancakes, too. And when I read Red Lobster, I got hungry for those cheddar biscuits immediately :)

Thanks to all the new and old followers and those who receive the TDIPT newsletter.
In all there were exactly 100 entries. Using random.org, the winner was #40 - Francine of Primitive Stars.
Congratulations Francine! Please send your mailing address to me at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com and I will ship your box out. I hope to offer another giveaway soon, so please stay tuned...

And anyone that is interested in making a purchase from my Etsy shop can receive free shipping for the rest of the month. Just enter VDAY2013 in the coupon code. International shoppers can contact me for discounted shipping.

Wishing you a Happy Valentines Day!

Blessings, Patti

Heartfelt Home

Just had to share a few pictures of my decorated home before this heartfelt holiday is over.
On the left is a wonderful antique slide box with two hearts and a cross carved in it along with two Maggie Bonanomi topiaries. (They are made with green paper - the only reason they are still "alive". I have a green thumb outside, but definitely not inside.) The three framed pictures are by Lana Manis of Honeysuckle Lane. My newest addition is the garland :) I saw it on Misi's blog 1890 Gable House Musings and just had to have one of my own :) I've always loved those metal heart doormats.

Hooked rug by primitivebettys from a few years back and still a favorite :)

There is something about old metal and old wood that always gets me!

My heart cookie cutter collection is growing.

Hope you are all set for a heartfelt holiday.

I have another finish to share. I'm hoping that the sun will be shining before I leave for work in the morning so that I can take a picture...
And there are still two days to enter my heartfelt giveaway. Take a peek here.

I Love You Truly

"I Love You Truly (Truly Dear)"
design by Heartstring Samplery

Do you ever see a cross stitch / wool applique / quilt pattern and think, I must do this immediately!!!
All else gets set aside even in mid-stitch. That is how I felt the moment I saw this. "It's a Wonderful Life" is a favorite movie of ours. We even have a framed antique advertisement from when it came out hanging in our bedroom. I love when Bert & Ernie serenade George & Mary Bailey with this song.

So of course I started stitching the moment I received the pattern. I tea dyed the linen and unfortunately with no LNS nearby, I picked through the GAST that I owned to try to find something comparable to the photo. I had the little rosebud fabric on hand and the antique trim came from a tattered and torn pillowcase found at an estate sale. You can see all of Beth's lovely Heartstring Samplery Designs by clicking here. And her sweet blog can be found here.

Now it is back to the previously scheduled cross-stitch projects - I have two more Valentine projects that I really wanted to finish. Any chance I can finish them before Thursday? Well, I can certainly try ;)

A Valentine Giveaway

I've always loved Valentine's Day.
Not in a romantic dozen red roses and diamond earrings way,
but in a decorated shoebox, handing out little handmade cards, childlike kind of way.
The joy of something little ~ handmade and heartfelt.

In that frame of mind, I would love to pay it forward and share this little Winding Vine Designs handmade heart sewing box and antique brass skeleton key. What good is a heart without a key to it :) I might just include a few other goodies too while I am at it...
I love the variety of fabrics in this old piece of crazy quilt and the wonderful embroidery, too.
The inside is lined with a vintage velvet.

As always, this giveaway is open to everyone. You can either leave a comment on this post or send me an email at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with "Valentine Giveaway" in the subject line so I can keep track.
To reward my followers, you will have an additional entry if you are a follower. Just note it in your comment.
And to earn a third entry, sign up for the TDIPT Mercantile newsletter and also note it in your comment or email. You can sign up for the newsletter here. The charity event starting over at TDIPT Mercantile tomorrow night is going to be fun!

So in your comment or email, please tell me ~ what do you like to eat on Valentine's Day? I remember the first year we were married I made a heart shaped meatloaf for dinner :) Maybe I will do that again this year....
I will pick a winner on Valentine's Day. Good luck to each of you!
