Hand & Heart

"Heart's Content" Armchair Pinpoke

I'm so excited about this piece!

I love the sentiment and I love the motifs.

But most of all, I love the unique finish
and having a pincushion nearby on the arm of my chair or couch.

Now I just need to finish up my Valentine EPP project.

Thursday I will be heading down to Mom's.
I bet she will have some amazing finishes for me to share!

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

I finished my Valentine Wool Project!
I'm still working on the cross stitch and the EPP.

I'm thinking that I am going to try to make a mat each month for this table.

Buttermilk Basin's
"Sweetheart Mat"

Since I used so many different colors of wool, I decided to keep the embroidery simple in an oatmeal color to match the background.

I'm hoping to finish my Valentine cross stitch project this weekend.
I'll enjoy my valentines until the end of February, then pack them away for next year...

This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

Mom and I are so excited!
All during chemotherapy and radiation, Mom's goal has been to recover to attend
From Our Hands & Hearts ~ Creative
in Yellow Springs, Ohio in April 2018

Mom is in remission and we are registered!
Now our big decision:

Which Sewing Book to make in Rebekah's Sewing Book Class?

That's a fun decision to make! :)
Will we see you there?

You can find more information here.

Now we are crossing off the days until we leave...

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another,
God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Happy St. Valentine's Day!

Leia wishes you a Happy Valentines Day!

And Peanut wishes you a Happy Valentines Day too!

Sweet Peanut in his bowtie.

I started a few Valentine projects.
Maybe they will be finished before the end of the month.
One in wool:

One in English Paper Piecing:

And one in Cross Stitch:

I hope that each of you has a lovely day!

Love is always patient;
    love is always kind;
love is never envious
    or arrogant with pride.

Nor is she conceited,
 and she is never rude;
she never thinks just of herself
    or ever gets annoyed.

She never is resentful;
is never glad with sin;
she’s always glad to side with truth,
    and pleased that truth will win.

She bears up under everything;
    believes the best in all;
there is no limit to her hope,
    and never will she fall.

Holly's Debut

By Lori Brechlin for Notforgotten Farm

I was going to add many more antique mother of pearl buttons,
but I think more butons would have taken away from the design.

I am so happy that she is completed
and I think that she is too!
I will keep her out as long as winter continues here on Winding Vine.

I had a wool winter finish as well:

"Snowflake Catcher"
Designed and kitted by Primitive Gatherings

I just love the wool for the wood paneled car :)

These finishes are so appropriate right now as this is the view of my back yard:

Nine consecutive days of measurable snow here in Chicago for a total of 18 inches.
Although no snow days for me. The commuter train line was right on time.

February isn't even half over, so I think that I'll work on some Valentine designs next...

 If I speak in the languages of humans and angels but have no love,
I have become a reverberating gong or a clashing cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can understand all secrets and every form of knowledge,
and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains but have no love, I am nothing.
Even if I give away everything that I have and sacrifice myself, but have no love, I gain nothing.

Decisions, decisions...

I've been itching to do some Valentine's Day stitching.
But then Miss Holly asked me oh so nicely...
Could I please keep stitching her as she really didn't want to go back
into the unfinished bin yet again.

Who can refuse sweet Miss Holly?

And so I keep stitching.
I can work on Valentines anytime during the month of February...

And since I'm still working on Winter stitching,
I may as well finish some winter wool...

The snow continues to fall outside, so I'll stitch up some snowflakes...

How blessed is the man who endures temptation! When he has passed the test, he will receive the victor’s crown of life that God has promised to those who keep on loving him.
