The blizzard predicted for Chicago arrived right on time ~ 3:00 p.m.
I left the office at 4:00 to face gale force winds as I walked past the Trump Tower on my way to the train station. My 45 minute commute took 2 hours and 45 minutes. Every cloud has its silver lining, mine was plenty of stitching time on a warm train as the fearless workers tried to unfreeze the train track switches. Isn't it perfect that I am working on this beautiful piece from Heartstring Samplery? You can purchase her patterns here. I accomplished a lot on the big band of icicles.
Enough snow already!
It's the first of the month and the TDIPT artists have updated their offerings.
There are many lovely items with a heart theme :)
This month I'm offering heart shaped pin books
And cross stitched needle cases (another Heartstring Samplery design...)
I'll keep you posted on how much snow we receive from this blizzard. The windows are rattling and the lights are flickering, so I know that the wind is still really blowing. They say that the heaviest snow will come in the middle of the night.
Stay warm and work on something that warms your heart.
That's what I will be doing ;)
Blessings, Patti

What wonderful projects you have going there! Way to go - sewing on a train! You must have great eyes!
Great you can stitch on the train, I used to do that all the time:)) Great sampler by Heartstring, and the snowman looks a happy one.
Your hearts are fabulous-)
Gorgeous stitching!!! Glad you made it home safe, stay warm :-).
Hooray for blizzards, then! I hope you are staying warm and cozy today. I love what you have done with my little designs. :)

Wow - love that sampler!! I remember the train rides to work when Iived in Flossmore and worked downtown. I was amazed how smooth the ride was and also did a lot of needlework. Love the box with the cookie cutters -you are so talented. Keep warm.
Amazing how many people across the country were affected by this storm. Beautiful sampler. Love the icicle design! ~Roberta
That was the perfect piece to be working on during the storm! You are very lucky to be able to take the train to work. Stay warm, and happy stitching!
Your handwork is just lovely!
