A few more spring finishes...

Where does the time go?
It keeps flying by at break neck speed.

I realized that I forgot to share a few finishes...

“Strawberries & Stripes”
By With Thy Needle and Thread

I’m really enjoying this candle holder as a finishing piece.
So easy to switch out...

Here was another finish from earlier in the spring

“Grow Whirligig”
By Heart in Hand Needleart

I’m sure I’ll find some more round designs to fit this piece 😉

I also fully finished
“Rabbit Run”
Book #194
By Prairie Schooler

A perfect pandemic stitch that will be ready for next Easter.

I need to get busy as I have all these summer pieces waiting to be fully finished!

In that day you will say:
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name
make known among the nations what he has done
and proclaim that his name is exalted.
~Isaiah 12:4

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

"March Cottage"
by Country Cottage Needleworks

Wishing you a Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Here are a few vignettes from around my house
of  needlework from previous years...

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
  he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
~Psalm 23:1-3

A final Christmas Finish

"Singing on its Way"
by Blackbird Designs
from their book
"The Bells on Christmas Day"

I pretty much bought this book to stitch this piece :)
I fell in love the moment that I saw it.

The colors are so soft, it's hard to capture them in a photo.
That was my final Christmas stitching for 2019.

Now I've moved on to snowmen
for January 2020 :)

When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

A Prairie Schooler Christmas

when I found this frame, I knew exactly what pattern that I wanted to stitch for it!

The Prairie Schooler #175 Santa's Night
Lucky for me, the ornament would fit perfectly,
so I stitched it right away.

The frame is battery operated and I just love the soft lights!

I think that this frame was made for this pattern!
I haven't packed it away yet and am going to have a hard time doing so...

Since I am sharing my latest Prairie Schooler Christmas finish, I thought it would be fun to share some vintage finishes that I photographed before packing away for another year...

I stitched this over one on black 22 count back in the day.
Still a favorite :)
It's framed as a shadow box with glass and hard to hide the glare of the glass.

This quilt was a gift from my Mom

she personalized it

and signed and dated it

I love the antique mother of pearl buttons in the corners.
Amazingly she made a second one for my sister that year!
My sister and I were both expecting that Christmas and our sons were born three weeks apart a few months later... Such wonderful memories!

Mom also made these for my sons one Christmas when they were little.
Joe loved trains and Alex loved fire trucks - so they were perfect!

Then a few years later Mom made my sister and I matching gifts again!

again signed

and dated!
Aren't they amazing?!
I am so lucky to have such an amazing Mom!
Love you Mom!

I have one more Christmas finish to share in my next post...

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel,
praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
~Luke 2:13-14

Easter Finishes

"Stoneware Bunny"
design and kit by Priscilla's Pocket

Over the Easter holiday weekend I did manage to complete a few  FFO's (fully finished objects)

I love how it looks with my stoneware.

This cabinet greets me as I walk down the hallway towards our kitchen.

I did the same finish for their Winter Wonderland Farm design in January
and now I want to change it out for all of the seasons.

I'll continue to enjoy this one until the next one is finished. :)

Book #121 Bunnies + Chicks
by The Prairie Schooler

I channeled my inner Priscilla for this finish and am so happy with it.
I found the wooden rabbit plaque at JoAnn's.

A little bit of grey lace seemed to set it off.

I am still hopeful that I can fully finish another project or two before the end of the month,
but we will see.

My sister hosted Easter this year and I had to share the newest addition - my nephew and his girlfriend's cat, Jack. He is a super social cat - very friendly, but I think that we all wore him out. :)

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Easter Stitching

"Crispin Sewing Box"
design by Stacy Nash

I have been stitching away on Easter/Spring projects.

"Stoneware Bunny"
design by Priscillas Pocket

Some have stitched up quite quickly.

With tax time and all, I have not had time to fully finish any.

Bunnies and Chicks
Book #121
design by Prairie Schooler

I am hoping to find some time to fully finish some this holiday weekend.

In the meantime, I keep stitching on my daily commute...

I just had to share my new shirt by Elly and Grace!
I love it and it's so comfy too.
I get lots of compliments when I wear it :)

It was already about noon, and the whole land became dark
until three in the afternoon because the sun had stopped shining,
and the curtain in the sanctuary was torn in two.
Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice and said,
“Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.” After he said this, he breathed his last.

A Second Stitch From My Stash Finish!

"Snow Day"
by Prairie Schooler
Book #177 January

I finished it up as a little pillow.
I tweaked the pups a bit to look like Peanut & Leia.
And I added a soft flannel binding along the edge of the pillow.

When I focus on the cross stitch, it is hard to see the fabric trim.
The lighting this time of year is hard to work with.

It looks washed out here, but it is a soft flannel buffalo check.

On to February #stitchfrommystash projects!

Hear my prayer, Lord;
attend to my prayer of supplication.
In my troubled times I will call on you,
    for you will answer me.
No one can compare with you among the gods, Lord;
No one can accomplish your work.
~Psalm 86:6-8

First finish of 2019!

My first finish for 2019!
"Little Red Barn" & "Grandpa's Pick-up"
by Little House Needleworks
part of the Farmhouse Christmas series

and appropriate as my Dad's last car was a red pick-up :)

My finish was inspired by Priscilla of The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch.
Thanks Priscilla!

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw me post my progress.

I only changed one color - for a darker green.

And this is where it lives in our mudroom entryway.

I think it looks so nice with my Schneeman bird wreath.

My first completion from #stitchfrommystash!

I also finished a block for "Snowy Days" by Heart to Hand

And I am making good progress on my Prairie Schooler project too.
I hope to fully finish this next weekend.

We had a lot of snow last weekend and then went into the deep freeze with single digit temps and wind chills below zero. Leia is always cold once it gets below 60, but Peanut usually doesn't mind

Although he is beginning to burrow whenever he has the chance!

“Stop judging, so that you won’t be judged, because the way that you judge others will be the way that you will be judged, and you will be evaluated by the standard with which you evaluate others.
