A Special Meet and Greet

Earlier this spring I was fortunate to attend a Meet & Greet with Priscilla Blain and Chelsea Carter at Tomorrow’s Heirlooms in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

Priscilla and Chelsea are the mother daughter duo, Stitching with the Housewives
and they havea fun and addictive floss tube channel on YouTube.

They are prolific designers and brought an amazing trunk show with them

It was so much fun to see so many models in one place in person.
They were displayed beautifully by season along with lovely quilts that Priscilla has made.

I’ve collected many of their charts already and have several more that I need to collect
after seeing them in person 😉

It was such a joy to meet them in person!

And this is the exclusive chart that was created just for the meet and greet.

Tomorrow’s Heirlooms did a fabulous job,
And we each received a wonderful goodie bag

With the exclusive chart

Another Stitching with the Housewives chart, little travel scissors,
and a sweet thread ring from Sampling of Memories.

While I was there I did a little shopping

Adding to my collection

It had been a bit since I had been in a cross stitch shop and it was a lot of fun.

It was hard to be good ;)

There is a favorite antique mall near by, so I stopped there as well.

I found these neat garden stakes.

And the tiniest sewing scissors and a thimble for my collection.

I have one more catch up post that I would like to share and then I’ll be up to date.
Stay tuned!

An ever-present help in trouble.”

Peep!

“Peep”
By Priscilla Blain and Chelsea Carter

You can’t see it well above,
But I thought the tiny yellow rick rack set if off :)

I decided I had to stitch it when I bought the Peep Peep plate by Rae Dunn.
Don’t they look so sweet together?

I started decorating for Easter
And it picks up my spirit.

Hippity Hop
from “Carrots and Cottontails Farm”
And Priscilla Blain

I finished stitching this last year, but never fully finished it.
I found this sweet orange gingham rickrack that I just had to use.

Priscilla and Chelsea inspired this finish as well.

And my little vignette.

Finally, be strong in the Lord, relying on his mighty strength.
Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the Devil’s strategies.

Stitch from my Stash 2020

"Ready, Set, Snow'"

This has been on my "must stitch" pile for two years complete with the little clipboard!

I switched up the colors to match the buffalo plaid.

The design was the perfect size for the clipboard stand!

I added some black rick rack to finish it off.

I am so happy with how it turned out!

It reminded me of a design that I stitched several years ago,
but hadn't put it out as I no longer liked the finish. Time for  a redo!

"January: A Year in Chalk"

Now I love it!
I was inspired by Priscilla and Chelsea.
Priscilla had shown this tin for one of her finishes and I really liked it.
I picked it up on clearance at Hobby Lobby last year.

I added some white rick rack and
the cute bow and snowman on the handle was on a gift from a friend!
I found the cute galvanized snowflakes on clearance at Hobby Lobby as well.
Thanks Priscilla & Chelsea for inspiring a few finishes!

"Advent Candles"

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw my Advent Sunday Stitching
I didn't finish them all by Christmas, so I just kept going each Sunday into the new year.
Now I'm ready for Advent 2020!

Here is a close up.
This December I plan to make a wreath for them to sit in.

I thought that this ribbon in my stash was a pretty good match.

And I backed them with a plaid homespun.

Now I've been working on:

"Trio of  Winter Houses"

I'm quickly running out of January days, so this may need to wait until next year to be finished...

Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient, bearing with one another in love.

A Few Fall Finishes

"A Bowl Full of Scaries - Scary Two"
by Plum Street Samplers

I had such a fun time stitching this piece and
I think it looks great with my black squirrel by Lori Ann Corelis of The Spotted Hare.

My grandfather had black squirrels living in his neighborhood
and we enjoyed watching them together.

This piece and Lori Ann's squirrel bring back those sweet memories...

"Harvest Chalk  Full"
by Hands On Design and Priscilla Blain

Another fun stitch! I loved Priscilla's finish, so decided to follow her lead...

So happy to have these two fully finished. I have a few more autumn pieces that I finished stitching and hope to fully finish before Thanksgiving.

Well, I am now caught up to the Bittersweet Sisters annual trip and will begin sharing that next week!

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.

The Old Red Barn

We interrupt the catch up summer posts to bring you a finish...

The Old Red Barn
by Little House Needleworks

I finished stitching this just about a year ago.
I was inspired by the finish of Priscilla and Chelsea that I found here.

I switched mine up a bit - I switched out the pumpkins for apples and changed the colors to those shown.
Then I was stuck. I really loved the antique barnwood that Priscilla and Chelsea used and was searching for some red barn wood.

Earlier this month, my husband and I took a ride to Lake County Barnwood.
It is only 20 minutes from my Mother-in-law's home.

Even my husband was intrigued and wanted to go in...

I was thrilled with the barnwood that I found.

And my husband found this great tray.
They even include an informational postcard detailing where the wood came from and the barn's history!

And now for the unveiling...

I am thrilled with my finish!

It has been "Priscillafied"!

Thank you so much Priscilla and Chelsea for the inspiration!
Be sure to follow them on Floss Tube - The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch!

You would think that it is easy to take still life photos,
but this is what I encounter every time I try to take a picture...

My favorite little photo bomber - Peanut!

He  is so hard to resist and push away...

If only he could just back up a few inches... ;)

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
