Is anyone still there to read this?

Gosh it has been a month since I posted!

I have been doing a lot of traveling this summer and now am in catch up mode both at work and at home. I have been posting on Instagram almost daily. Do people still read and follow blogs? I miss my blog, but Instagram is quick and easy. I have also been having troubles getting photos from my phone to my blog. I'm debating what to do...

I had a finish on Labor Day!

As you can see, I stitched this in 2018 - as soon as the kit arrived, but I did not fully finish. 

I guess that I can count this as a Stitch From My Stash completion!

I love the lining fabric on the sewing pocket!

And on the back of the pinkeep as well!

I do have a few things that I simply must share before I decide whether to continue my blog or not.

So if you are still out there, please stay tuned!!! I will be back soon!

Stitch from my Stash Projects ~ July and a June finish

June was not a productive month on the "Stitch from My Stash" front.

With gardening, weeding, family/friend time and trips in the summer, 

I don't get as much time to stitch.

So I am dialing way back with my July plans.

I stitched this over one many years ago.

This month I hope to decide how I want to fully finish and get it done :)

I also found this little over one piece. 

I'm not sure of the pattern/designer as I just found it all by itself.

Hope to finish this one up as well.

I had gotten pretty far along last summer during our week in the north woods.

But now all the little details are complete and the runner is backed and tagged.

Now it is time to enjoy it!

I had to get this project finished before Mom and I headed to Maggie's class at Wheaten Woolens for a new Maggie project! I'll be sharing that trip in my next post.

A few June fully finished strawberries

I haven't made great progress this month on my Stitch from my Stash,

 but I did fully finish a few items that I stitched in years past.

"From Me to Thee Strawberry Pinkeep"

I stitched this back in 2015 when it first came out.

Why did I wait so long to fully finish it?

I love the large size and the sweet charm that came with the kit.

 The kit also included the ring and ribbon.

So happy to finally have it on display.

I love the little pom pom trim - a perfect match and oh so sweet.

Mom and I just arrived home from a trip to Iowa.

Another Stitch from my Stash finish!

I am so happy with the way that it finished up.

So sweet and perfect for the month of May!

 I knew just where I wanted to display it.

 

I think that I will enjoy it for the month of June as well 

before I  pack it away and decorate with patriotic items.

Only one more day in the month of May!

I still have three cross stitch projects that I was hoping to fully finish and one wool project too. LOL! Wish me luck ;)

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; 

my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—

the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Egg Gatherer Sewing Basket

 Those of you that follow me on Instagram have been watching me stitch the sides of 

"Egg Gatherer Sewing Basket"

The bottom was supposed to be a mustard print cotton, 

but I thought the chicken and chicks needed a little rooster ;)

The mustard print that came with the kit would have worked fine for the outside of the basket as well,

but I remembered a fabric in my stash that I thought I would like better.

So sweet, but it was white and bright red.

It definitely would not go well.

So I aged the fabric with walnut crystals until it matched the linen and threads better.

It doesn't look very aged here.

 But here you can see the difference.

I think they go together pretty well now.

And here is the basket all put together.

I am pretty happy with it, if I do say so myself.

It's not perfect, but it's done!

(My mantra!)

And it looks sweet with my Shooner Pottery chicken

And with this little vintage pair.

Stitch from my Stash Projects ~ May

It's a new month and time to pick my Stitch from My Stash projects for May!

These months are flying by!

First up:

Egg Gatherer Sewing Basket Kit

This kit was purchased in 2017. It is stitched on 35 count linen - smaller than I prefer, but necessary for the sweet diminutive basket! I will do my best to power through as it is so sweet!

Ode to the Ort No. 2

OK, I may be cheating a bit on this one...

It isn't really from my stash as I just purchased it in March, but I can't wait any longer... lol.

Final project for cross stitch:

I don't really think that I will be able to finish this one, but I hope to at least start.

I purchased this kit last year on a trip to Country Sampler. They have the model hanging and it is simply gorgeous. 

(And the thimble box bonus pattern is also darn sweet too! Maybe I will stitch that one next year...)

I am also hoping to participate a bit this year in Stitch Maynia 2019.

As you know I usually only stitch in season, but I thought this was a good chance to get a wee jump start on some stitching for other seasons. I definitely won't be starting 31 or even 19 new projects like most are doing, but thought that I would pick up an out of season WIP or two during the Stitch Maynia craziness ;) OK I "may" be kitting up an out of season stitch or two (or maybe even three), but we will see if I can stitch out of season at all lol.

And yes, it is not just about cross stitch here ;)

I must be honest and tell you that I did have a Stitch from My Stash fail in April.

I loved the Rabbit and Hen Quilt that I picked to work on, but just didn't have it in me to work on specialty stitches during a month that was really stressful at work and at home. 

I have packed it away until next year and instead will start working on  this:

Easter Finishes

Over the Easter holiday weekend I did manage to complete a few  FFO's (fully finished objects)

I love how it looks with my stoneware.

This cabinet greets me as I walk down the hallway towards our kitchen.

 and now I want to change it out for all of the seasons.

I'll continue to enjoy this one until the next one is finished. :)

Book #121 Bunnies + Chicks

I channeled my inner Priscilla for this finish and am so happy with it.

I found the wooden rabbit plaque at JoAnn's. 

A little bit of grey lace seemed to set it off. 

I am still hopeful that I can fully finish another project or two before the end of the month, 

but we will see.

My sister hosted Easter this year and I had to share the newest addition - my nephew and his girlfriend's cat, Jack. He is a super social cat - very friendly, but I think that we all wore him out. :)

I didn't take the class as I had a conflict, but was able to purchase the kit at the Mercantile.

"Stoneware Bunny"

was released and purchased in the Spring of 2017!

Yep, after two years, I am finally going to stitch and finish it.

I am hoping that these two projects will be quick as I have recently bought several new Easter/Spring cross stitch charts that I am really itching to stitch! But I must Stitch from my Stash first!

And there is a new wool project to start as well:

I would so love to finish it, but I am a little daunted by all the embroidery stitches that need to be done...
