A great big finish for 2019!

"Snowy Days"
design by Heart to Hand

It's finished!
Hallelujah!
It was only 6 years in the making...

It's hard to take pictures this time of year
between the short days and lack of sunlight.

I love all the different background wools.

I'm so happy with it.
I'll be putting it away for next winter - but it will be a nice surprise to pull it out all finished then.

I love the brushed flannel that I chose for the the backing and the brushed cotton binding with a subtle stripe.

And here is Mom's version that I shared last year.
She finished hers in about a month rather than 6 years lol!

Leia had to bring her toy Lambchop over right away to see my finish.

When I asked if she could please move, she ran right over to her brother for a snuggle

and a nap.

I'm glad I picked a smaller project to finish up for February. :)

Teach me your ways, Lord,
    that I may walk in your truth;
let me wholeheartedly revere your name.

Winter Wool Applique from Years Past

This polar vortex has been rough!
We were without internet, tv and our landline for almost 48 hours!
You don't realize how much you rely on them until you can't use them ;)

This is a sweet Maggie Bonanomi design from several years ago -
part of the Maggie Club with Country Sampler.

I think that this was also a Maggie Club kit with the Country Sampler

I smile when I pull them out each winter.

I love the graphics of this pillow.

I have to share the sweet snowman that my sister-in-law, Joy made.
Thank you for your continued prayers as Joy continues her chemo treatment.
She always says that crafting is the best therapy and I agree!

Joy's daughter (and my niece), Dana, made this great snowflake sign!
I love it! You should see the fabulous Christmas tree that she made, but I packed it away before I took a picture - darn! You will definitely see it next Christmas.

I've been working away on "Snowy Days" by Heart to Hand.
My #stitchfrommystash project for January.

I finished this block on my surprise *cold* day of from work.
Wind chills were at -55!

Now I am stitching my blocks together.
I know that tomorrow is February 1st, but I am so close that I want to finish this one up.
I have picked my February #stitchfrommystash projects, but they will have to wait for another day...

Lord, listen and answer me,
for I am afflicted and needy.
Protect me, for I am faithful;
My God, deliver your servant who trusts in you.
Have mercy on me Lord,
for I call on you all day long.

Stitch from my Stash - the beginning

On New Year's Day, I spent part of my day picking my two projects for #stitchfrommystash
I had such a hard time choosing, that I selected three lol! First up:

"Snow Day"
by Prairie Schooler
from Book #177 January

I have been wanting to stitch this one since January 2016!
I started stitching Prairie Schooler designs in the mid-1980's
and they have been one of my favorite designers ever since.
If I was on a desert island and could only bring charts from one designer - this would be it :)
Sadly, I can't even remember the last time I stitched a Prairie Schooler?!
So this will be the month!

Little Red Barn and Grandpa's Pick-up
from the Farmhouse Christmas series
by Little House Needleworks

this is the bonus project that I kitted up :)
I've seen so many finishes of this series lately that I am finally itching to start!
I will only be doing these two charts in the series and want them to be for winter rather than Christmas.

My wool project for January will be:

"Snowy Days"
by Heart to Hand

Believe it or not this kit was purchased back in 2013!
And I have not worked on it since January 2016!

I think that I need to finish it this month!

Here is where I left off three years ago:

I sure hope that I can get it done and enjoy it yet this winter...

I've made a little progress on "Little Red Barn" already this week...

So many of you have asked for pics of the pups.
Leia was thrilled with the new toy that they received for Christmas!
A stuffed log with three stuffed squirrels inside that can be pulled out through holes in the log.
She wouldn't sit still for a picture ;)

Peanut wasn't quite as thrilled.
Although he did steal a squirrel once Leia had pulled it out lol.

Peanut's favorite activity is snuggling with his sister.

Even when snuggling, Leia usually has a toy in her mouth.

She just can't let go!

Peanut just doesn't get it :)

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
