Sales and Market Finds...

Thanks for your great response to my new Etsy listings!

There are still some kits available...

I do have an illness -
A Stitch Stash Addiction.
While I am trying to downsize my Stitch Stash, I am still adding to it!
I hope that I am not alone out there :)

I went to Market Night at The Inspired Needle.
These are the treasures that came home with me:

"Pin Pals" by The Purple Thread - so sweet and tiny!
"Liberty Starlet" by Summer House Stitche Workes - I was thrilled to get this limited edition kit!
Cathy had the model in the shop and it is beautiful in person.

While not the newest designs by Brenda Gervais, I finally caved and purchased "Summer Saltbox".
In 2015, my husband and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary - I was thinking that "Heart of the Home Sampler" is a perfect anniversary sampler...

"Be Ye Thankful" by Pineberry Lane
"Turkey Sausage" by Plum Street Samplers
Two great Thanksgiving designs and how can I pass up a dachshund design?!

And here is the one that I really can't wait to start:

"Spell of the Moon" by Blackbird Designs
Perfect for this time of year!

So much to stitch and so little time!
I'm going to try to be good now...
until Boxwood & Berries that is!

I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

An Etsy Update

You may recall that early this year Craft Corner (my crafting area in the laundry room) was condemned by the Inspector General (my husband) for being a fire hazard. (You can read about it here.) I am slowly continuing the clean-up. I have come to the conclusion that there is no possible way that I will ever create all that I want to make and that some items need to find new homes where they have a better chance of being created.

So I have decided to list some items in the Supplies section of my Etsy shop.
All are patterns plus wool or linen and some are complete kits.

All are listed at 25 to 50% off original prices.

I accept Paypal, checks and money orders.
If you don't have an Etsy account, but are interested in purchasing, just send me an email at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com

Many are limited editions that are no longer available.

I still really like them all, but am trying to be realistic about what I will make.

This is just a portion of what is available.
Click here to see them all.

I think this weekend I'll take a break from cleaning Craft Corner and do a bit of creating :)

"Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
    you make my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance."

Blessings

On January 29th, I received the phone call at work. My dear Uncle Jack was being transferred to hospice care. I left work to go to lunch alone to have some time to process this news. As I waited for my luch and tried to eat, I flipped through my Blog reading list looking for distraction...

Later that evening I received a second call.
He had passed away peacefully - all too quickly and all too soon.

As we mourn Uncle Jack's passing at the age of 77 and as we mourn our loss,
I am trying to focus on the blessings,
How blessed that I was to have him for an uncle.
How blessed to have his stories and humor that always added smiles and laughter to our family gatherings growing up.

Focusing on the blessings rather than the loss, when possible.

Back to that lunch and flipping through my blogs...
As I did, my name caught my eye...
Faye was having a giveaway to celebrate her 1,000 followers and I had won!
I looked around the restaurant to see who I could share this won, but no one was there and so I was temporarily distracted and pleased!

In a jiffy, my package arrived despite the nasty weather on both sides.
The photo at the top of the post shows how sweetly it was all wrapped.

And inside I found:

Faye's sweet card and tag, some wonderful linens,

some needles, buttons and pins and this wonderful little supply bag.
I opened it slightly  so that you can see the wonderful lining fabric and the sweet spool zipper pull.
And if that all wasn't enough!

Can you believe this incredible project bag?
Oh my goodness gracious! The stitching, Stacy Nash design and colors are perfection. The lining is the same as the supply pouch and the zipper pull is a tiny stork scissors. And look at the incredible scissor fob with the buttons and scissor charm.

Here is the whole shebang. I was so blessed to win this incredible giveaway on such a difficult day.
Faye does beautiful finishing work for others and I already knew the impeccable workmanship as I had received a pouch that Faye finished as a gift from my Bittersweet Sister, Wendy.

Thank you Faye! I will treasure them always.

I had also won a few giveaways around the holidays and hadn't had the time to blog about them.

A sweet kit from Ginger of Prairie Moon Primitives.

A lovely kit from Nancy of Victorian Motto Sampler.

A wonderful selection of wools from Laurie at The Wooly Red Rug.

And blog reader Deb was oh so kind to send me a wonderful assortment of wools, wool felt and an incredible wool kit for a loon table mat - one of my favorite birds!
Thank you ever so much Deb!

With all these many blessings, my intention was to create something special for a giveaway, but as always time ticks away so quickly...
I do want to pass it on, so let's have a giveaway.
The winner will be selected through a random number generator on Friday.
The winner will win one item of their choice from my Etsy shop. Click here to take a peek and let me know what you would choose.
As always, my giveaway is open to everyone. Simply leave a comment on this post or send me an email to pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with "Etsy giveaway" in the subject line.
Let me know if you are a follower of my blog or my Etsy shop and you will receive an additional entry.

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."
~Romans 8:35,37

Rest in eternal peace, my dear Uncle.
My daily prayers are with my dear Aunt Barb (and my Mom) as they travel through this difficult time.

Blessings, Patti

A (not so) "in season" stitcher

"Boughs of Holly"
design by Maggie Bonanomi
a Country Sampler Girls Club Kit

I am usually an "in season" stitcher. As soon as a holiday or season is over, I stop work on that seasonal project and pack it away for the following year. Then start something for the given new season / holiday.

Let's call this a "winter" project :)
I just love the colors and the way that it turned out!
Thanks Maggie for another phenomenal project and thanks Jeanne of Country Sampler for another incredible year of the Maggie Club. I can't wait to see what 2013 brings...

I realized that I didn't have any good backing fabric for this piece, so I gave Jeanne a ring and she sent me the perfect fabric - I just love it!
(I always add ticking tags with something meaningful to me while creating when I complete a project.)

Now it is on to a few snowmen and wintery projects...
I hear some Valentine projects whispering in my ear :)

I spent a few minutes today adding to my etsy shop ~ a few handmades and a few antique treasures.
I am trying to downsize, but it is always hard to part with treasures ;)
Click the link on the left or here to take a peek.

A Big Thank You & An Etsy Giveaway!

I simply can't thank you all enough for all your well wishes and prayers during my illness! They definitely have helped in my healing!

I returned to work on Tuesday, but have found that just the commute to downtown Chicago wipes me out. Luckily, our firm decided that with the NATO Summit it is best to work from home today and Monday. So I am being productive in my pajamas :) The recuperation is much slower than I anticipated. I am just now adding foods back in to my diet besides plain noodles, potatoes and toast :) They say that in 6 - 8 weeks I should be back to normal.

I wanted to do a special giveaway in celebration of your support and prayers and also because I just reached 300 posts! (Not sure how that happened!) Since I am not quite up to creating something special, I decided to have a giveaway of your choice of any one item from my Etsy shop. If you would like to take a peek, you can click here.

As always, this giveaway is open to everyone. Simply comment on this post or send me an email to pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with "Etsy giveaway" in the subject line and let me know which item you would choose if you win :)

"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."

Happy Spring and a Sale

Happy Spring!
Although like most of the country, in Chicago it feels more like July!
Plants (& weeds) are busting out all over!
I was so happy to putter in the garden on Sunday -
the strawberry patch has been cleaned out
and I planted 5 planters with pansies and pussy willow branches.
To celebrate the first day of Spring, I am having a sale at my etsy shop.
Through the end of the month I am offering free shipping on any purchase - just enter SPRING2012 in the coupon code.
Don't have an etsy account? No worries, simply email me at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com
Coupon code is valid until March 31.
So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these"

March Giveaway

I finally took some time to put together my giveaway for March.
I also loaded up a few items in my Etsy shop. Take a peek if you have a moment - there are a few antiques and a few handmades.
You can find a link to my Etsy shop on the left.
This month's giveaway is a little sewing vignette. The pincushion is made by me with a reproduction coverlet fabric, two antique abalone buttons and a little patch of early brown calico. I'm also including a vintage paper measuring tape, two wooden spools of thread, a vintage thread wheel, an antique brass skeleton key and a smattering of antique mother of pearl buttons.
I wanted to make a word pillow for Easter and was looking for a religious word that isn't too long. Any ideas? Let me know and enter this giveaway at the same time :) Either leave a comment on this post or send an email to me at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with Easter Word in the subject line. I will pick a winner using a random number generator Friday night.

TDIPT on Etsy & a Giveaway!

Great news! Now in addition to updates on the TDIPT Mercantile website on the first and fifteenth of the month, the TDIPT Mercantile artists can now be found on ETSY!

Reviewing all the offerings at Etsy can be overwhelming. But now when you go to http://www.etsy.com/ you can enter TDIPT in the search box and find all the lovely creations by the TDIPT artists that you know so well. Or you can simply click on the TDIPT logo on the left to take a peek.

I tried so hard today to include the photos of a lovely treasury of TDIPT creations here on my blog, but to no avail... Click here if you would like to see.

And to celebrate, I am offering a giveaway!

The winner will be able to pick any one item from my etsy shop (click here to see)
I like for my giveaways to be open to everyone, so simply leave a comment on this post or email me at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with "TDIPT on ETSY" in the subject line so that I know it isn't spam. I'd love to have more followers, if you are so inclined, but it isn't necessary to enter the giveaway. I will draw the winner on Saturday, September 17th.

Wishing you a relaxing Labor Day Weekend!

Blessings, Patti

*Welcome September*

I love pears!
The unusual shape. The colors of early autumn.
And they taste divine, especially in salads with blue cheese and walnuts.

I have a small collection of folk art pears by Stacy Nash, Schneeman Folk Art, two by me and two by unknown artists.

I recently purchased this antique velvet pear pincushion and it inspired one of my offerings this month on TDIPT Mercantile.

Velvet pear pincushions in light gold, dark gold and green velvets.

Each has a leaf made from a vintage wool army blanket. I had taken more pictures of groupings, but unfortunately our laptop crashed last night and I lost a bunch of photos.

I also stitched up a key fob. I haven't done that for a while, but was inspired by the approaching fall season and this primitivebettys design by the talented Betty Dekat.

My Etsy Shop has also been stocked with some offerings for fall.
Stop by and take a peek if you have a chance.
Wishing you lovely early autumn weather in your corner of the world.
Blessings, Patti
