A Happy Valentine's Day!

Aren't these love birds beautiful?
The talented Mindy Raymond was so sweet to make them for me after I spent a bit of time coveting them from her wonderful blog ;)
The paper that she used is photocopies of her great great grandmother's journal ~ isn't that special?! Be sure to visit her blog ~ she is a prolific wool applique artist with a beautiful prim home!

I thought I would share a few of my Valentine decorations today...

Love the beautiful faded colors of these antique Valentines.

These are notecards made by the uber talented Lana Manis of Honeysuckle Lane and Simple Joys Paperie. I bought them a few years ago, with the intention of using them, but they are so beautiful, that I decided that I had to frame them and keep them for my very own...

I found this beautiful antique shirt cuff and incorporated it into my wool applique...

Sending each one of you love!
And wishing you a Happy Valentines Day!
Blessings, Patti

Thankful & a Winner!

"Give Thanks"
design by Maggie Bonanomi
After seeing this completed by Mindy on her blog, Raymond Homestead, I had to be sure to complete it myself before Thanksgiving :)

It's been so much fun having a giveaway and reading everyone's comments. There were 49 entries. I've met some new people and haven't gotten to everyone's blog yet for a peek, but I will! Thank you all for your kind comments!

I'm not very tech savvy, so we had a randow drawing the old fashioned way.
And the winner is:

Diana!
Diana, I do not have your address, so please email me at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com by Wednesday, November 24th and I will put your prize package in the mail right away.
In case Diana doesn't respond, I will pick a new name on Thanksgiving.

Thank you all for participating, I wish that I had a prize for each of you!

Blessings, Patti

~* Friday Finishes*~

The talented Betty Dekat, designer of primitivebettys has a weekly blog feature of Friday Finishes, where she shows how others have completed her designs.
I thought that this week I would put my own spin on Friday finishes.
(I do have to mention that the acorn urn above is not yet finished so you are only seeing the "finished" bit of the corner ;)
Linda (UT), a dear online friend, shared this with me:

Linda has collected several of my "keys" over time and her dear husband made this fabulous key fob holder for her to display them! Isn't it the neatest thing???!!!
I just love it. She had seen it on Mothology, but it was out of stock, so her talented husband made it for her - now it's even more special knowing that it was made from the heart!
I was inspired this past week by Mindy of Raymond Homestead.
I love her blog and her prolific wool work, but this post had my brain whirling and me giggling...

Look at her wonderful creation inspired by a fallen branch!!!
I knew that I had to do this immediately, so I got Orion and his leash and immediately went for a long walk in search of a branch...
Luckily I found one and didn't need to start pruning a tree lol.

And here is my finish:

I thought that it was the perfect way to display my little collection of Schneeman Folk Art birds that had been scattered around my home.

I find myself now drawn to this little corner of the living room to glance at my tree and *smile*.
Mindy asked how my family felt when I dragged a dead branch into the house. I told her that I snuck it in when no one was home and I'm still waiting to see if anyone comments on it. So far no one has ~ I wonder if they are oblivious or they just think that I have lost it!

I'd love to hear about your Friday finishes - leave me a comment and let me know!

Blessings, Patti
