Christmas is Coming! Fast!

How can it be so close to Christmas already?!
I haven't done much stitching lately, so I thought that I would share some old finishes that I am enjoying this Christmas season.

I made all of our stockings in wool applique many years ago using patterns from Needl Love books.

The pennies are all from a old favorite plaid wool skirt of mine.

A favorite Pineberry Lane finish.

Mittens from a Rebekah L. Smith pattern made last year.

The snowflake cube is a Stacy Nash original.

I stitched these Pineberry Lane designs last year,
but they are still waiting to be fully finished.
I am hoping to do that between Christmas and New Year's.

A With Thy Needle and Thread design stitched this year, but not fully finished.

I did finish a little scissor fob.
My Christmas fob is MIA, so I created this one quick
from a part of a pattern by Little House Needleworks.

I also finished two small Christmas presents.
I forgot to photograph them before I wrapped them,
so I need to try to remember to take pictures after they are opened...

Two weeks ago, my husband was on a business trip out east.
I was so surprised to get this photo from him:

Rockefeller Center at Christmas?!?!
I was so jealous! But we did manage a quick trip out west this past weekend.
I'll share some pics from that after Christmas...

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

June Mantle and More...

Here we are in the middle of the month yet again.
Before you know it I will be decorating my mantle for the 4th of July.
But before I get ahead of myself, here is my June mantle.
My antique lanterns and topiaries are my usual staples, joined this month by...

A simple wool applique picture from a class I took with Maggie Bonanomi and one of Maggie's own original strawberries. I'm loving the soft colors.

Here is a favorite pinkeep done with snippets of a Stacy Nash design.

A Primitive Gatherings table mat with some of my original velvet strawberries.

Ginny Henson and Norma Schneeman strawberries share this bowl.

A Norma Schneeman folk art box and a Stacy Nash class project.

No strawberries here, but the bees and flowers still look right at home this month.
Folk art spool box by Chris Robinson.
Cross stitch design by The Good Huswife.
Original mat by Maggie Bonanomi.

Don't you love this prolific strawberry plant?
My interpretation of a Needl' Love design.

And last, but certainly not least, my finishes of a Heartstring Samplery design.

February Offerings

Greetings!
January is finally over! It has been a long, cold, snowy winter so far… My offerings this month are all inspired by Valentine’s Day and the joy of love. At the same time I wanted to make items that don’t need to be put away come the end of February, but would look right at home all year long. I think that I succeeded J

My first offering this month is Hearts Abloom Table Mat. This mat is based on a design by Need’l Love. It features hand dyed and vintage wools. It measures approximately 10 by 10 inches and is backed with a wonderful coordinating flannel. As with all of my creations, it is completely hand stitched. The feature that really sets this piece apart is that the binding is a wonderful red velvet. The combination of textures of wool and velvet look so rich and striking together.
Hearts Abloom Table Mat is offered at $40 plus shipping.

My next offering is a Winding Vine Designs original. Heart and Hand Windowsill Runner is made with all antique materials – tickings, wool, coverlets, and mother of pearl buttons. It measures approximately 4 by 18 inches and would look great on a windowsill, bookcase or just about anywhere. It is completely hand sewn and is backed with another antique blue ticking. The edges are finished with a blanket stitch of perle cotton.

“Hands to work, hearts to God”
“Hand and Heart shall never part. When this you see remember me.”
All these lovely thoughts went through my head as I worked on this original design. I had to include pieces of my absolute favorite antique ticking for the two large hearts.
~*Sold. Thank you ever so much!*~

I just had to share a few of the items that sold already:

Antique Heart Pinkeeps are a Winding Vine Design Original and feature all antique materials – a wonderful red and brown coverlet and cream linsey-woolsey heart. The large pinkeep is backed with antique muslin while the smaller pinkeep is backed with the same antique coverlet. They are completely hand stitched and filled with crushed walnut shells for weight and to keep your needles clean.
~*Both are sold. Thank you ever so much!*~

Love Blooms Pillow ~ based on a sweet design by Primitive Stitchin’ by Shelly Auen.

Birds and Buds Pillow is based on a sweet design by Country Rustic Primitives.

But as for me, I will sing about your power.
Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love.
For you have been my refuge,
a place of safety when I am in distress.
