Liberty Inn... finished!

"Liberty Inn" For The Inspired Needle's "Inspiring Summer Seminar"
design by Paulette Stewart for Plum Street Samplers

You might remember this as a class that I enjoyed in June. You can read about it here.
My version came home from the framer today:

I'm not very good at sticking with large projects, so I did an abbreviated version.

In the end, I chose not to back-stitch the quilt stars on the house.
I preferred the subtle look.

I was very happy with the mats and the moulding that the framer chose.

I'm so happy with the framed picture and the strawberries!
The stitching projects from one summer class completed!

Last night football / marching band season started at the local high school and we were there to cheer them on - especially one very special tuba player - our son :)

Tomorrow will be spent readying my offerings for September.
The newsletter will be sent out to my mailing list tomorrow night.
The offerings will be posted on my blog on Monday.

you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

Patriotic Pinkeeps

"Patriotic Fan Pinkeep"
Notforgotten Farm's

Here is my vacation finish! I am so happy with it :)

On the back I added a piece of the vintage flag ribbon that I just bought at Country Sampler.

Then I raided my antique pincushions for some neat pins to add.

I will be keeping this close by my stitching chair so that I can enjoy it.
Can't wait to see the project for October!

I also finished these patriotic pinkeeps:

These were from the Inspired Summer Seminar with Paulette Stewart of Plum Street Samplers at The Inspired Needle.

I had such fun with these and really enjoyed adding the pin designs.
I think I will be doing that again it was so much fun!

I also finished stitching "Liberty Inn" and will be taking it to the framer on Saturday.
I will unveil my abbreviated version once it is all framed :)

Time to start my offerings for the end of the month.
I'm loving the ideas and hope that they turn out as sweet as I envision...

Opinions appreciated and a winner

I haven't had much time for stitching lately, but when I have a moment or two this is what I am working on...
"Liberty Inn" by Plum Street Samplers for The Inspired Needle's Summer Seminar

On Paulette's original design, she backstitched around the quilt stars on the house.
Right now I am agonizing...
Should I back stitch the stars on the house so that they really stand out?
Or should I leave them as is for a more subtle approach?

I've been agonizing about this a lot and can't seem to make up my mind :)
What do you think?
(I am realizing now that the sun was too bright in this photo and the colors look very washed out on the screen, but you get the idea.)

Thank you to the 43 entries in my giveaway!
It was fun to hear what you like to hunt for when antiquing.
Random.org selected #40 as the winner - Lorinda from Massachusetts!
Congratulations Lorinda! I will get your package on its way shortly.

I've been traveling a bit more and celebrating some special occasions that I hope to share soon.
Just need to find a bit of time...

Stitching Progress and a Winner

I thought I would share my progress on the Inspired Summer Seminar Projects.
The strawberries are all stitched and now. I just need to find an afternoon or evening were I can sit down and put them together.

I've made a bit of progress on "Liberty Inn" from the Seminar as well and it really is a fun stitch.
(The little quilt stars are reminding me of the fireworks from this past weekend :)

Thank you so much for the 40 entries in my giveaway!
It sounds like a lot of you enjoy the fireworks too. I'm jealous of those of you that can watch them from home :) Random.org selected as my winner #38 - Amy of Bumble Bee Lane!
Congratulations Amy! Please email me your mailing address and your prize will be on its way...

Inspiring Stitching Weekend Part 2

Well get comfy, because this is going to be a loooong post :)
The second part of my inspiring stitching weekend was spent with some wonderful stitchers.
The Inspired Needle hosted a lovely
Inspired Summer Seminar with Paulette Stewart of Plum Street Samplers!
I love The Inspired Needle and Paulette's blog always makes me smile, so I knew this was the perfect combination!

On Friday night, Cathy hosted a meet and greet at the shop.

This included an opportunity to see many of Paulette's models up close.

This inspired me to want to pull out those I have already kitted at home!

Some models can really touch us in person, more than they do on the pattern cover.

This one kept drawing me back... I love the little shepherdess and her little row of sheep.
And those flowers!

These were the treasures that I brought home on Friday night.
Yes, I did purchase not one, but two pairs of scissors :) They were both so sweet and I couldn't decide!
And yikes! I forgot to buy the sampler that I was admiring.
Guess that I will have to take a trip back to The Inspired Needle soon :)

We could hardly wait for Saturday morning to arrive!
At each place setting, we were greeted by our class kit, a great project bag and a darling wooden thread holder to match the motif on our kit. On the back it was inscribed with our seminar and date.
What a perfect souvenir to commemorate the magical day!

Then it was time for the unveiling:

Paulette designed "Liberty Inn" for our class.
I just love it!

But, that's not all! The icing on the cake:

Our kit included all we needed for these sweet stitched and wooly pinned strawberries!
Be still my heart!
I guess I will be creating some strawberries this summer after all :)

Aren't they lovely?

We all dove right in!
The room was lovely with all the nice windows and our lunch was delicious.

Even the views were inspiring!

We had a great table of friends new and old.
Pam, Sara and I have taken classes together at the Country Sampler before.

Cathy, who owns the Inspired Needle, is in the back.

We had a great time laughing and sharing our passion for needlework.

We had some great show and tell including this piece that Ranae is working on. I love the fabric!

And I had a great surprise

My old stitching friends, Paula and Nancy were there!
I hadn't seen them in many, many years. How fun is that!

Paula and Nancy were both brilliant as they brought framed Plum Street Samplers to have Paulette autograph on the back.

Aren't they lovely?

I should have thought of that!

Thanks for hanging in there through this looong post.

If you still would like to see more from other people's perspective, you can read about it:

Thank you Cathy and Paulette for creating an unforgettable weekend!
