Maggie Bonanomi Egg
Lately I've been a bit overwhelmed.
It's busy season at my day job and I'm working lots of overtime.
My oldest son is a junior in high school and the college planning & tours are daunting.
I have a creative deadline approaching and just can't seem to get started.
My journal of creative ideas is chockful, but late each night as I try to prepare projects for my train ride, I can't seem to focus. I find myself spending time on the computer or watching mindless t.v. instead.
I think part of it is the weather. Although the calendar says spring and the sun is occassionally shining, the temps aren't getting above freezing. It's been a long hard winter and I think if it would warm up a bit and I could get out for some fresh air and see some fresh shoots of life, my focus might come back...
So, to try and hurry things along, I did a little spring decorating this weekend.
It might not help the weather but it certainly helped my heart! "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." ~Matthew 6:34

Wonderful egg and love the bunnies, I need to make more of those too.

I like your spring decorations! The bunnies are cute!
ReplyDeleteI think the gloomy weather can be draining and it sounds like you need a little down time with all you've got going on. I know some kiddos don't decide where to go to college until the end of their senior year. Both my guys pretty quickly decided where they wanted to go once they visited the school and I think they both made the right decision, even though they are far from home. Love your Easter decorating. The feedsack eggs are so unusual and cool. Have a good week. ~Roberta
ReplyDeleteLove the egg with pansies. And what a nice "basket" display...that idea may show up in my home. We had snow again yesterday, but I'm assured it's spring.
ReplyDeleteI love the eggs and bunnies. Hopefully all this gloomy weather will clear up and we can get going with spring. I know how daunting those college visits and things are. We went through that last year. It all starts to boggle your mind after a while.
ReplyDeleteI am SO with you! Its a weensie bit warmer here, staying in the 40's, but we are close to matching the wettest March on record, and slogging through the MUD multiple times a day is highly depressing.
ReplyDeleteYour Spring decor is SO FESTIVE... thank you for sharing with us. Before you know it, we will both be in blooms up to our elbows. Believe it. :)
Patti, That egg is beautiful....Is that something you made at Country Sampler? Carla in Fargo
ReplyDeleteOh those bunnies and eggs. Wonderful basket too. No wonder you have difficulty focusing - sounds like your days are exhausting! Your favorites list led me to some wonderful new blogs....thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove the egg. Is this pattern in one of Maggie's books?
ReplyDeleteHi Patti! It must be the weather because I'm feeling the same way. So hard to get motivated. We need a little warm sunshine, no more of this snow business. I was just catching up when imagine my surprise ;) Thanks for posting the bunnies! I still haven't had a chance to get anything out for Easter. I LOVE that egg. Still need to purchase another one of her fabulous books (I want them all)
ReplyDeleteSending happy sunny hugs...it won't last forever :)
Jenn xoxo
Hi Carla & Jonette,
ReplyDeleteThe violet egg is from the old Needl Love book "Springtime Threads".
Blessings, Patti
Love the eggs and I also am patiently waiting for warm weather so I can work in the yard. I don't remember a winter this long ever and hope I never have to do it again..as long as I am still here on earth :)
ReplyDeleteToo fab!!! Love your new banner - I always hope you won't change it because I like them so much, but then the next one is even better!
ReplyDeleteGive yourself some time off - the things that have to be done will be done once you take the pressure off.
Thanks for the info on where to find the egg pattern. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteDo you have Maggie's book Nature's Offerings and if so do you recommend it? Thanks.
ReplyDeletePatti, You are SO talented, you get waaay more done than most of us!! We all have those times when it's harder to get things done than other times, but hang in there! When the weather gets a little nicer, the gloominess will lift!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to Willows & Blooms or Boxwood & berries this yr? Do you go to both? I LOVE the Maggie posy bag in your previous post ~ I went to Primitives of the Midwest & Loved meeting Maggie! Take care
~ love your bunnies, too! :)
