A Final Holiday Party

Last Sunday our once a month Stitch Club gathered to celebrate the holidays at Cathy's house.
We were originally scheduled for mid-December, but had to postpone due to a snowstorm.

Cathy was kind enough to leave up her decorations for our party.
Her home is a true winter wonderland!

She has quite a knack for putting things together beautifully.

Love those bottle brush trees!

Isn't this arrangement she created so pretty?

A sweet winter welcome.

The EPP gals (including me) were quite taken with the hexie holiday Wheat Thins that Aileen found!

This was my favorite new finish of Cathy's!
Isn't it drop dead gorgeous?!

A beautiful rainbow with a hint of Christmas.

<3 love="" p="">

And take a look at this finish:

Stitched by Susan and finished by Jan.
Jan had just finished putting the trees together and delivered them to Susan at our party,
Susan shared this great photo as soon as she got home.

Her vignette is now complete!

Thank you Cathy for being a gracious host!
Thank you ladies for the perfect pass around gifts that I forgot to take pictures of!
Thank you Aileen for the awesome present!
Looking forward to seeing you all next month!

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

Stitch Club Finishes

Recently we had our once a month stitch club and I was amazed at the finishes that were shared :)
We were at Aileen's house and the moment I walked in, I spied this fabulous jar filled with english paper piecing hexie flowers!

Aileen joined several swaps online and her flowers have been arriving from all over.

I loved looking through her jar and admiring the fun fabrics.

They've arrived from all over the country and all over the world!
I had to share a few of my favorites...

Our friend Cathy has been busy with her quilting.
I love the spool square above and look at this:

Isn't this strawberry square awesome?!
It looks so happy :)
And do you spy the Easter runner at the top of the photo?
The fabric is chocolate bunnies and pastel peeps!
It's making me hungry ;)

Cathy also made this sweet little Valentine quilt ~ such a fabulous fabric combination.

Here's the back so that you can see the sweet little heart quilting...

And Jan totally outdid herself with this phenomenal masterpiece!
A wool applique crazy quilt purse!
Oh my stars! I think that I spent most of the afternoon mesmerized by its beauty and staring at every little detail!

This little bumblebee is so sweet.

And these teeny tiny flowers along a seam *sigh*

 more whimsical little flowers...

And here is the back of Jan's purse.

The embroidery on these flowers is absolute perfection!

I love the variegated  thread flowers on the gray background.

And this is on the inside under the flap - such a shame that it is hidden.
Jan should do a lot of shopping, just to open her beautiful purse ;)

Her embroidery stitches are so perfect!

I love each and every detail, except for the spider and spiderweb on the back.
This arachnophobic doesn't even like cute spiders.

We didn't see Joan's show and tell until we were heading out the door...
She knit this incredible sweater! A wearable work of art!
The hood and the back were pretty incredible as well.

No finishes of mine to share... just a bit of stitching on the latest Stacy Nash club kit.

A Stitch Club Christmas

Our Stitch Club Christmas Party was held at Cathy's house.
She has such a flair for interior decorating!
This year's color scheme was red, aqua and white - so clean, but with a great vintage feel!

I love her newly finished quilt and just loved this pillow.

Sweet little touches everywhere you look...

Cathy's Dad made all these wonderful figures for a Christmas village when Cathy was just two years old!
What a treasure!

Aileen had some show and tell to share.
This sweet hedgehog pincushion was stitched by Aileen and finished by Jan.

And this fun truck pincushion was also a joint creation envisioned by Aileen and finished by Jan.

We received some fun "pass around" gifts
including these two wonderful handmade, heartfelt gifts:

 by Cathy and Jan.

I brought little Temecula quilt ruler boxes for my "pass around" gifts.

So many of the gifts were beautifully wrapped
like the pretty gift that Joan received.

 Cathy received these gorgeous mittens.

and Jan received a stunning hand knit scarf.

I had fun wrapping Aileen's english paper piecing themed gifts in flannel fabric.

And included a handmade pincushion and pinch pocket.

In the gift exchange, my gift was from Cathy...

and I was so excited to receive the same pillow that I had been admiring in her living room :)

And this cute hot cocoa kit.
Thanks Cathy!
And thanks to all my stitch club pals!
It was another memorable Christmas Party :)
(See you on Sunday ladies!)

Stitching Fun & Adventures...

"Bird Out of the Bag"

I had so much fun stitching this design!
And I am thrilled with the results!
(I tweaked the design a bit on the bird, but not much.)

It's fun to play with embroidery stitches for a change.

And adding a bit of fill under some of the appliques for dimension.

I thought that the back needed a little something,
so I added a little patch from the leftover wool.

And added a bit of embroidery, too.

This past week we had stitch club at Cathy's gorgeous home.
Knowing that we were coming, she decided to decorate her mantle for Halloween.
I fell in love!

Isn't it darling?!
I love those little spider web candles - too cute.
I kept disappearing to go take another peek - so much to see!

Cathy has a great eye and I love how she put it all together...

Love those owls!

Speaking of owls, our friend Susan completed this stitch.
I know that this is in my stash and now I need to locate it!

Completely off topic, but I had to share.
Monday was our 30th wedding anniversary and I was so surprised and thrilled to receive 30 roses at work from my dear husband! I am so blessed!

So I am sure that you are wondering where the adventure comes in...
Well, this weekend this bag will be coming with me as the Bittersweet Sisters and I are off on another adventure! If you search on my blog for "Bittersweet Sisters", you can find out about our past adventures. Or try clicking here and be sure to click on "older posts" at the bottom to see more.

I'll be back to tell you all about it and have a little giveaway, too.
