Time has once again escaped me!
I still have to share more of my trip earlier this month to Mom's and the wonderful antiques that we found.
These were Mom's purchases on our first day. The puzzle ball was from Maggie Bonanomi.
But you really need to see the tiny boot pinkeep close up!
The workmanship and teeny tiny stitches are amazing!
I tried to show the perspective of how tiny it is, but it is rather hard to capture.
Mom bought these treasures from Schneeman Folk Art.
Perfect for a Christmas display!
And Mom found another puzzle ball! I think she is now a collector!
Love the antique bone buttons on this one from Jacque Bradford.
I also bought an antique puzzle ball from Maggie.
I loved the stitching and the little nubs of velvet that remain.
I bought this cornucopia made by Maggie - perfect with antique velvet, oak leaves and acorns.
And another teeny tiny treasure - a little leather doll shoe made into a velvet pinkeep.
This bird by Ginny Henson also followed me home.
I love the embroidered linsy woolsy wings
and the wonderful breast fabric too.
In Norma and Jennifer Schneeman's booth, I bought this wonderful make do bird that started as a spun cotton antique ornament from Japan that was not in good condition.
But Jennifer used her magic and repurposed it.
Can you see the tiny original wire legs?
Aren't the paper embossed wings and tail stunning?!
And a Schneeman gingerbread heart for my Schneeman Christmas tree.
I also couldn't pass up this matched set of measures!
Both of them are embossed with the same maker, city and state.
I also bought this wonderful shoe accented with old ribbon.
While the shoe is darling, the presentation was awesome:
It will be hanging with a spray of greens on my front door this holiday season. :)
This pincushion has been calling to me the past several shows and this time I couldn't resist.
I may need to try and replicate it...
And finally my last purchase of the trip:
My home's furniture fits our house's architecture is mainly prairie / mission / arts + crafts style with a few treasured pieces of Stickley. So I couldn't resist this bookshelf.
I love the drawers and
the side pockets - wouldn't they look so pretty filled with greens for the holidays?
Once I clean it up and decide where to display it, I will have to share.
Thank goodness these shows are only twice a year!
I better start saving my pennies for the March shows...
Thanks for letting me share our shopping with you!
I'll try to be back soon with all of Mom's recent wool finishes.
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Oh what an amazing find! I love that little boot (um, I must still be stuck on the single shoe thing.) Everything that followed you home is wonderful. Your bookshelf will be a fabulous focal piece. I love the depth of the details. I'm a crazy-quilter so your 2 pincushions with the stitching just sing to me - I know I'm a sucker. What can I say? Have a great evening.
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart! This post sent me back to A-fib! Oh my goodness the treasures. That boot is such a special piece. Lots of lovelies! Hope your Mom is doing well.
