Country Sampler Stitch Camp 2017 ~ Day 2

Day 2 of Country Sampler Stitch Camp our teachers were Vickie and Maegan of Needlework Press.
You can find their website here and their Facebook page here.

Camp cook, Selma Bennett, fixed up a delicious breakfast.

Vickie and Meaghan brought with many lovely models from their books and patterns.
Most are based on antiques in their collections.

I love the patriotic motifs in this one!

So many inspiring projects!

It's hard to pick a favorite!

And so many unusual and unique finishes!

Some done on tiny count fabric. Love!

Here are all the models for a camp classes!

Look at all these lovelies!

Most are based on antiques and it was so fun to see the original antiques as well.

All the campers enthralled with their tales.

Here are my finishes from Day 2
A fabric covered journal, a camp lanyard/necklace and a sweet little pouch to keep it in.

We also worked on decoupaging a box ~ something totally outside of my comfort zone!
I found it best to arrange things and then take a picture to try and see how it looked "overall"

We spent a lot of time playing :) - cutting, selecting, adding, subtracting and rearranging.
My box is now done and I am excited!

The box lid with the addition of an aged velvet pincushion as suggested by our camp teachers.

The front of the box with a suggested old spool of thread as seen on another antique work box.
I am so happy with the way it turned out and am happy that I stepped out of my comfort zone!
Would you like to see the inside?

I'm happy with the way the inside turned out as well :)
As I am writing this, I am thinking that I should write on the bottom of the box when and where it was created... I better do that now before I forget.

There is still one more day of classes to share!

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
~Philippians 1:3-6

Blessings, Patti
