Back to the "From Our Hands & Hearts" travelogue!
Day 2 of the event started off with the "Needle In" ~ a wonderful day of open stitching with kindred spirits. Perfect for working on our class projects with the teachers close at hand to answer questions. And time to visit with kindred spirits with similar passions.
Such fun to stitch in the well lit room
Busy hands and happy hearts.
So neat to see progress on the classes that I didn't take.
Lori Ann Corelis of The Spotted Hare's teddy bear class.
And punch needle from the talented Doreen Frost of Vermont Harvest Folk Art.
Another great thing about the "Needle In" is getting to see the lovely show and tell brought by other needle artists.
Here is my dear friend Ella with her phenomenal Adam & Eve!
And her lovely bling :)
And a few of her hooked creations as well.
Such a sweet sheep!
I can't recall the woman's name that created this absolutely incredible pumpkin and teeny tiny indian corn!
Can you believe these perfect creations?!
This little needlebook is hers as well. WoW!!!
We even had a darling little visitor!
Meet Heddwin the African Pygmy Hedgehog!
Isn't he the cutest little fellow you ever met?
We all fell in love with the little cutie patootie :)
Smiles all around :)
Thank you so much to Heddwin's mom for bringing him in to visit!
I had so much fun at the Needle In, but wasn't my most productive :)
Others were much more productive:
Can you believe that there were many completed teddy bears? So sweet!
And there were also many door prizes at the end of the Needle In.
My new friend Susanne won a wonderful gift basket of treasures from the teachers.
Mid afternoon it was time to leave, not to go home, but to allow the vendors time to set up there lovely Mercantile. Linda and I were so lucky that dear Ella took us under her wing to see the sights. She took us to The Polka Dot Pincushion in Richfield, Ohio, The Crafty Ewe in Broadview Heights, Ohio and the lovely town of Hudson, Ohio which included The Grey Colt.
Before we knew it, the time had come to return to The Mercantile.
But that will have to wait until next time :)
"As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
the Maker of all things."
~Ecclesiastes 11:5

Patti, what a treat to meet you and spend a lovely few days in my beautiful home town of Peninsula. I have been enjoying your recounting of this event through pictures! The wonderful Barn needle book, pumpkin pincushion and Indian corn scissor fob were created by my friend Diane. Looking forward to your future posts.

Geez I am so close and didn't take a class or get to the show. Just too many things going on. Looks like you had the most wonderful time and I appreciate you taking the time to share with us.
