Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments to my last post, "Life is hard..."
Each of them brightened my day as did your ideas of simple things that help:
a good cup of tea, comments from blogging friends (I certainly agree!), books in the mail (any package in the mail!), petting a dog, having a purring cat on your lap, stitching, and the Book of Psalms
just reading the list makes me smile :)
Well as you can see, Collection #5 isn't exactly prim, but it does brighten my bathroom both day and night. My blue glass insulators and blue Ball jars contain timer candles that shed a soft glow at night.
My newest collection are old glass bottles to serve as bud vases ~ from mustard, Alka Seltzer, extract, honey and aspirin. Filled with my favorite flower of the day - zinnias. I love those with lots and lots of petals. $5 spent and lots of happiness received :)
I don't think that the honey bottle is antique, but I loved the embossed bee skep!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Wishing you joy!
"When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done,
he was glad and encouraged them all
to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts."
~Acts 11:23
Blessings, Patti

Very pretty Patti and cheery.
ReplyDeleteI have my granny's old canning jars on top of my cabinets in the kitchen. She was a farmers wife so she had many and I love my collection! I live yours too! And the timer candles...that's a great idea! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Glass is my #1 collection! I always look for unique vintage pieces (and prefer them for their bubbles and imperfections)... but, I won't turn down a newer piece that has character either! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteso pretty! I collect old bottles too ~ we dig them up here on the farm from where the folks would bury their trash...I love them and their history ~ yours look so pretty with the sweet zinnias in them! Thank you Patti for brightening my day!

Love your glass collection! Another blog(An Extraordinary Day) I read put their insulators upside down in clean sand on a tray and then put tealights inside. I thought that was quite creative and would not have thought of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing; I am always delighted.
I use my old blue Ball jars to store my homegrown dried lavender. I use the lavender to help stuff my cross stitched bowl fillers. Mary A
