My prayers are with all those in the path of Hurricane Sandy.
As I write this I am watching the coverage on the news...
In my last post, I forgot to mention the great antique mall that I found on my way to Osage, Iowa.
And here are my wonderful antique purchases I found in my travels - I fell in love with this primitive basket with its woven lid and well worn and loved patina. The antique piece of bunting jumped out at me as well.
I enjoy collecting stereoptiscope cards from places that I have traveled to - this time I found one from Yellowstone and another from the San Francisco earthquake. I have heard of folding skeleton keys and was so happy to find one (bottom right hand corner.)
And finally, here is my latest giveaway:
This giveaway is open to all.
One of my favorite things in the autumn is the beautiful colors of the changing leaves. So tell me... which is your favorite tree for autumn colors?
Simply leave a comment on this post or email me at pgagliardi9@hotmail.com with "Autumn Tree" in the subject line.
Thank you for letting me share my Iowa adventure with you!
Blessings, Patti

Love reading your blog posts (and seeing your beautiful work as well!) This year my favorite autumn tree was an oak tree in our back yard. Just before the leaves dried and turned brown, they were the most beautiful shades of rust in color. Thanks for sharing your fun-filled trip!

White oak leaves are sturdy and shine..Their color reminds me of newly tanned leather . I find them friendly when it comes to my nature projects .
ReplyDeleteI noticed a leaf in your first picture that looks like a bird or chicken ! It sits on the lower ,center of the picture , tan colored and slightly curled on the edges . It has two legs and is facing left. Good Day to You, Joan
Living in IL, we love crossing over into Iowa for long drives...we have a Crimson Maple outside our window that is one of the most striking "Autumn Trees" in the fall. Blessings...Pam

Such a gorgeous cushion, thank you for the giveaway. One of my favourite trees is the oak tree just because I love the shape of the leaves and the fairycups that hold the acorns too.

Hi Pattie --
ReplyDeleteI've come across your blog through Marly of Samplers and Santas.
You found some wonderful things at that antique mall! Love those keys!
Please toss my name in for your beautiful Fall pillow.
My favorite tree for Fall (or all year round) is October Glory. We planted them on our property shortly after moving to KY.
While maples are usually so brilliantly colored, I think my real favorite is the ginko's soft yellow. Lovely blog! ~Denise
